Sorry all - I've posted here for traffic!

Do you use the same towel for all areas of your body (face, feet, general body area, genitals, bum) when you have a shower/bath or not? If you do, how often do you wash them?

Oh Christ. Don’t start this.

cheeseandketchupsandwich · 14/05/2023 15:20

😂

QuestionableMouse · 14/05/2023 15:21

Dry from the top down. Hang it up to dry. Chuck it in the wash once a week with my bedding.

MrsMoggy · 14/05/2023 15:23

Well your arse should be clean if you’ve just had a shower so what does it matter if you use the same towel for your face. I’d imagine most people dry from top to bottom anyway

ChrisPPancake · 14/05/2023 15:24

I wipe myself over with a flannel (much like leathering off a car) after washing, top down, finish with pits and bits. Then wrap myself in a towel. Flannels and towels washed once a week.

rwalker · 14/05/2023 15:46

Stick with head first hoop last you’ll be fine

But even if they do, they're still wiping with their arse towel from yesterday!

Possibly my favourite bit of advice ever!

YABU, and clearly not actually sorry 🙄. Why does it matter to you how randoms on the internet dry their genitals?

PinkButtercups · 14/05/2023 16:58

I don't use towels. I just get DP to stand there and fan me dry. Isn't this the way we all do it?

coffeecupsandwaxmelts · 14/05/2023 16:59

If you've washed properly, why does it matter if you use the same towel?

pecantoucan · 14/05/2023 17:00

Use a fresh hand towel for each limb, head and arse.

Okunevo · 14/05/2023 17:00

Yes, one small bath towel, washed weekly.

That's my reasoning. No need to ever wash it either (well rarely anyway - just hang to dry in between uses)

Do you not wash your arse in the shower?

MarinatemysoulinSprite · 14/05/2023 17:04

I have a separate hand towel for each area of my body (and separate flannels too). Imagine using a flannel that has touched your arm to touch your feet. Shudder.

I shower at least 4 times a day and incinerate all the flannels and towels every time.

Ok, no, I don't do this....but if I did, why would it matter?

TowelQuestion · 14/05/2023 17:09

Alright this has incited some anger in some of you 🤣

If you must know I have OCD and, although I shouldn't, I do try and seek reassurance from people that some things I wouldn't typically do anymore are actually OK to do, even though I used to do them and the world didn't end.

And also yes I do wash my arse in the shower.

And @LordEmsworth you're right, I'm not sorry because I wanted the answers and until the last few posts people weren't quite that mean or rude about it!

Yes. You just do you OP

MarinatemysoulinSprite · 14/05/2023 17:19

Nobody is being mean or rude.

Just highlighting that it really doesn't matter

As @pecantoucan says, just do whatever you feel most comfortable with. There are no "rules" and everyone is different.

Turns out that one for every part of the body is actually a thing that people spend real money on :-)

Face first, then work down. Hair has a different towel.

body towel is washed after one use. Hair towel becomes the body towel the next day and on we go.

That has to be a joke gift, or as a joke for visitors to see?

TowelQuestion · 14/05/2023 17:22

@MarinatemysoulinSprite well I do feel that people are being rude/mean? The sarcasm used comes across that way TO ME.

What does it Matter that I'm asking? If people didn't want to answer then they wouldn't. Does it matter to anyone that I care to seek reassurance from strangers? I wouldn't think so, apart from my own recovery.

@Okunevo Well, you would like to think so, but this is a towel/showering thread on MN so who knows?
