I didn't read it as sneering, more as banter. Which probably counts as an Australian cultural contribution in itself. The aussies on the thread can correct me, but I'd be very surprised if any of the ones I know were to take offence, they'd be more likely to point out that more that a large number of the english folk they come across in the UK would love to live in Oz....
