That's interesting. I may be a snob then. I have seen little of him, as I don't watch much TV at all. What very little I did see, he came across TO ME as superficial and inauthentic.

As you point out, I may well have been misled by the fake tan, teeth and accent and that probably makes me a snob. I shall challenge myself to do better! It's that Essex aesthetic that when you only see it in certain contexts leads you to fall for stereotypes.

He said Holly is pleasant enough, polite but not friendly. Schofield is a massive bellend- bad tempered and rude. Davina McCall is apparently lovely. Gok wan he said was one of the rudest people he has met and Olly Murs is extremely arrogant and has a god complex

It reads to me, that he's been negotiating with ITV before he "stepped down"

I agree with you 100% about Rylan.

Easily dismissed owing to his look but even during the whole X-Factor process all those years ago he was extremely nice, funny and fun.

Even the Radio 4 Today sports reporter was taking the piss out of Holly and Phill this week. Guess his position was untenable.

The fact that it’s “with immediate effect” speaks volumes - no farewell show, no emotional video montage with teary goodbyes from fellow presenters…

I’m sure Holly said see you Monday on Thursday when signing off but Sky are saying she’s off till after the school holidays. The DM are already eyeing up replacements including Dermot, Mulhearn and Vernon(who’s on Radio 2 at the same time as TM!)

Dylan’s just announced on his Radio 2 show that he’s away for the next few weeks working on other projects…. 😜

I bet Phil only offered to step down if he was given a new prime time show as compensation… hence the reference in his statement.
