So says Rylan Clark

He claims some people in the industry aren’t nice and polite, like they portray themselves to be and behind the scenes they treat people badly…that people are starting to see through it now and all will be revealed…

@thebellagio I listened to the Rylan “Off Menu” episode today, oh my god I was crying with laughter especially when he had that conversation with Linda halfway through 🤣🤣🤣🤣

thebellagio · 18/05/2023 22:21

Epic wasn’t it @CaveMum

I mentioned this earlier in the thread, but I really recommend a couple of podcast interviews Rylan has done:

How To Fail with Elizabeth Day (came out a few weeks ago)

Grounded with Louis Theroux (BBC Sounds) which was recorded during Lockdown.

He comes across very well in both, self deprecating and acknowledging his responsibilities as someone in the public. Also fascinating to hear him talk about his father and how his half-siblings to this day don’t know he is related to them.

He’s also just launched his own BBC podcast called How to be a Man discussing masculinity with various men in the public eye (though I recommend skipping past the Freddie McConnell one!)

I've not listened to the pod but what's wrong with Freddy McConnell? I find him very funny and comes across as a lovely man and dad.

CaveMum · 19/05/2023 08:08

Well aside from the fact that Freddie McConnell is a narcissist who issued a legal challenge to deny their child the right to have their birth certificate accurately recorded (whether Freddie likes it or not, Freddie gave birth and is therefore the child’s mother), Freddie has no right to appear on a podcast discussing being male and the issues around that because, plainly put, Freddie is a female and therefore does not have the requisite experience of the subject.

Oh, it's an anti-trans thing. Ok.

CaveMum · 19/05/2023 08:53

Not anti-trans, just pro biological reality.

What is anti-trans about acknowledging biological reality?

Well you can't be pro biological reality and pro trans.

nunsflipflop · 19/05/2023 10:50

Timothy Schofield has just been jailed for 12 years.

EachandEveryone · 19/05/2023 11:30

Goodness me and rightly so

HairyMcHairyFace · 19/05/2023 09:29

I disagree.

I have met transwomen before (though never a transman) and they have always been VERY aware that they were male - men - but that they were, for whatever reason, so uncomfortable with their own sexed bodies that they preferred to present as the opposite sex. Some were gay, some not. Some had surgery, some didn't. Some were very effeminate and might be mistaken for female at a glance, others not, but all were obviously male when you interacted with them. Even effeminate men are still men, as I'm sure you'll agree.

They didn't invade female spaces, they didn't insist that the rest of the world validate them with pronouns etc - they just wanted to live, as most rational human beings do, as normal a life as possible. And that is what they did. They were not violent. They didn't expect people to pretend that they'd changed sex.

I am absolutely pro-trans in this situation. We all have a right to life our lives as we wish if we don't damage others or put others at risk in the process. These men were more comfortable adopting a female persona, and people were happy to respect that.

However insisting that other people ignore science, place women and children at risk, and lie, both to themselves and others by insisting that everybody has to agree that they are just another "type" of woman, in the way that blonde women and brunette women, black women and white women, tall women and short women etc are women is dangerously wrong. No woman has a penis.

It is particularly egregious that so many transppl seem to feel that they are above the law - that they can insult, abuse, threaten and actually assault people who disagree with their viewpoint - and that there will be no repercussions, AND THAT THE LAW SEEMS TO BE SUPPORTING THEM.

Nobody is - or at least nobody should be - above the law.

Absolutely!

Picoloangel · 19/05/2023 14:40

Don’t Ant and Dec, Hw and PS all have the same representation? Might this explain why now that the heat is on PS, A and D are “stepping back.” There was a suggestion after Queuegate that they all came as a package so to speak and annoy one and annoy them all 🤔

Was thinking today it was a bit of a strange coincidence that they’ve chosen to announce just now that next year’s will be their last (for a while). Definitely seems odd timing

Mrsjayy · 19/05/2023 18:42

Tbh Saturday night takeaway has been rubbish for years so perhaps it is a coincidence 🤔 they probably do share the same agency .

Mrsjayy · 19/05/2023 18:47

Yeah Ant and Dec and phillip schofield share the same management group.

Biggestpizzaiveeverseenjesus · 19/05/2023 19:36

It’s all very odd

The management are probably hoping that putting out that story will shift the media's attention to Ant and Dec. I think they're clutching at straws.

Biggestpizzaiveeverseenjesus · 19/05/2023 20:37

Like they already tried with the strange story about Alison being blackmailed and bits about Gino

ShirleyPhallus · 19/05/2023 21:21

There is a really odd story about Pip being comforted by some man with the last name Schofield, who the paper said isn’t related to him. Are they insinuating that he’s married?

Biggestpizzaiveeverseenjesus · 19/05/2023 21:28

@ShirleyPhallus Simon Schofield…he’s known him since that drama school thing too I think, there’s an awful picture of him sat with the runner boy that is just really uncomfortable to look at

OP posts:
Picoloangel · 19/05/2023 21:48

Yes, SS is no relation but ran the drama school which the young runner had attended.

Take Away’s ratings tanked this series, the next will be the 20th - it’s a nice round number to end on and announcing it now will bring in the nostalgia viewers. A&D are the channels biggest stars - allowing them to announce it rather than ‘ITV PULLS PLUG ON A&D’ headlines next year is a mark of respect for the loyalty (well paid tbf) A&D have shown the channel.

There’s no conspiracy.
