I disagree.
I have met transwomen before (though never a transman) and they have always been VERY aware that they were male - men - but that they were, for whatever reason, so uncomfortable with their own sexed bodies that they preferred to present as the opposite sex. Some were gay, some not. Some had surgery, some didn't. Some were very effeminate and might be mistaken for female at a glance, others not, but all were obviously male when you interacted with them. Even effeminate men are still men, as I'm sure you'll agree.
They didn't invade female spaces, they didn't insist that the rest of the world validate them with pronouns etc - they just wanted to live, as most rational human beings do, as normal a life as possible. And that is what they did. They were not violent. They didn't expect people to pretend that they'd changed sex.
I am absolutely pro-trans in this situation. We all have a right to life our lives as we wish if we don't damage others or put others at risk in the process. These men were more comfortable adopting a female persona, and people were happy to respect that.
However insisting that other people ignore science, place women and children at risk, and lie, both to themselves and others by insisting that everybody has to agree that they are just another "type" of woman, in the way that blonde women and brunette women, black women and white women, tall women and short women etc are women is dangerously wrong. No woman has a penis.
It is particularly egregious that so many transppl seem to feel that they are above the law - that they can insult, abuse, threaten and actually assault people who disagree with their viewpoint - and that there will be no repercussions, AND THAT THE LAW SEEMS TO BE SUPPORTING THEM.
Nobody is - or at least nobody should be - above the law.
