At asking a fellow mner to change their name..?

Shhhh · 18/02/2008 14:16

See we both have very similar names....

I have been around for 3-4 years and have built up a bit of a good rapor etc with fellow mner's.

There is a new(ish..?) mner with a similar name and already there is evidence of confussion..ie others leaving feedback for me but spelling it the way of the other mn iykwim...

I have pointed this out (nicely) to the other mn and have had negative replies iykwim..

Just thought it would be easier for everyone if we had differences to tell us apart as im sure she doesn't want to be mixed up as me and vice versa..???

aibu..?

The feedback forum is for sellers/buyers, so if one person is selling/buying with a very simialr name to another person then they're going to get muddled up, which wont help anyone.

MrsSchadenfreude · 18/02/2008 15:03

How about Shhhhesnotahun?!

BananaPudding · 18/02/2008 15:04

ah, not actually "name" feedback forum. I see now!

Ssh · 18/02/2008 15:04

Roight. Not disagreeing that it's confusing, but shouldn't it be the responsibility of the person leaving the feedback to make sure they have the right name?

Shhhh · 18/02/2008 15:04

Right sorted..OP has changed their name...! BUT I want a new name..

Im off out now but will be back later..keep ideas coming...x

can't you just post a lot on there and allow the confusion. chances are she will get fed up.

VictorianSqualor · 18/02/2008 15:04

VitorianBanana is quite a good name
I'm quite lucky that there is no-one with a similar name but I did choose carefully, it isn't my first name.

lou33 · 18/02/2008 15:04

lol VS, it would indeed be rather astounding if i was pg, considering i was sterilised over 5 yrs ago

talkingmongoose · 18/02/2008 15:05

Oh dear, I'm reading this and starting to feel worried and paranoid now...is there a mongoose already? A really famous mongoose, or something?

Ssh · 18/02/2008 15:06

Wot? You've made her change your name and now you're changing yours anyway?

I'm well confused by this.

Pile of old shite anyway.

lou33 · 18/02/2008 15:09

blimey, loulou33 apparently joined in oct o6, but only posted a couple of times til recently

i think it's more of a concern for her to get mixed up with me tbh

SheikYerbouti · 18/02/2008 15:09

I am indeed, oh Marmitey one.

Did you not know? I bet you were wondering where the great IGW had gone weren't you? Were you missing me?

I knew sheiky was someone I 'knew' just couldnt for the life of me remember the previous name.

Shhhh · 18/02/2008 22:05

lol at the realisation that others were in fact x from years gone by...!

Well I have decided to keep my name . Couldn't bring myself to change it...
Thanks for the suggestions...

wigglepiggle · 18/02/2008 22:12

have changed my name as suggested on the £payscale thread. Blame them over there....

Shhhh · 18/02/2008 22:14

who did you used to be..?

OP posts:
Spidermama · 18/02/2008 22:16

There's a Spidermum on MN. She hardly ever posts and when she does there's confusion especially as she lives in the same city as me and she also has four kids (though I think she may have five now). People on here did confuse her with me and kept congratulating me on being pregnant when I wasnt.

I wouldn't dream of asking Spidermum to consider a name change as she has been here even longer that I.

Carmenere · 18/02/2008 22:18

Xena changed her name ot TheOriginalXena when our inimitable Xenia arrived on mn. No hassle, no trouble, no confusion.

2shoes · 18/02/2008 22:18

so wich one are you........the one I have met or the one I haven't?
