At asking a fellow mner to change their name..?

See we both have very similar names....

I have been around for 3-4 years and have built up a bit of a good rapor etc with fellow mner's.

There is a new(ish..?) mner with a similar name and already there is evidence of confussion..ie others leaving feedback for me but spelling it the way of the other mn iykwim...

I have pointed this out (nicely) to the other mn and have had negative replies iykwim..

Just thought it would be easier for everyone if we had differences to tell us apart as im sure she doesn't want to be mixed up as me and vice versa..???

there is a lulusmama and a lulumum, but they are nice ladies, so they can keep their names! aren't I generous!!!

Do you think she tried shhhh and found it taken and so went for more s's and fewer h's. I sometimes about the names with numbers too. I'm sure there are several of the same name just with different numbers floating around. Why would you do that? It's just asking for confusion...

It's understandable to feel as you are, but I do think yabu. There are thousands of mnetters, it's impossible that everyone will have a completely unique name. I would think it was unreasonable if I was asked to change my name because it has "banana" in it, and if someone came on with "bananapuddingpie" or something I wouldn't ask them to change it. There is no list for new members to check when they are choosing their name to make sure they do not come close to someone else's name.

It seems I am in the minority, but you did ask in this particular forum. So...YABU

Every name I tried was taken so rather than sound similar to other people I choose "nametaken" - clever or what!!!!

thre is a MamaD and when she saw me she actually asked if I'd like her to change! Isaid no, it didn't bother me at all.

chequers, this thread was intended to be about her..just wanted opinions and really a solution and it seems the solution would be for me to name change so there is no further confussion..

Its not hard though to find out who I am referring to....Im not being nasty to the op..just don't like the similar names..even confusses me..!!!!!
