This morning?

Off work today and watching and it just seems tense and awkward and not right between Holly & Philip Schofield

OP posts:

DM will be rolling out the body language “experts” before the end of the show 🙄

SundaeLove · 15/05/2023 10:08

Well you’d never know anything was up!

Yes, you would. They are both artificially chirpy this morning. It is all an act.

Did you all hate Philip Schofield before he came out as gay or is that just a massive coincidence?

No it's the fact he rushed into the studio before a story was about to break(on their day off) for grooming a boy. Nothing at all to do with being gay, give it a rest 😡

PenelopeTitsDrop3121 · 15/05/2023 11:23

Scofe's body language has been pretty intimidating towards H. He's trying to make eye contact and she's not having it,plus sitting closer and closer and she's trying to move away. I'm cringing.

Lillyrosemay · 15/05/2023 11:35

I don’t watch it and haven’t for decades. Generally I’m working though, I am curious about how he’s still got a job though, he’s like that person at work who everyone thinks is an incompetent Twat but management keep promoting them and then realise their mistake too late and struggle to get rid.

Viviennemary · 15/05/2023 11:36

Cant stand either of them. Never watch it now.

He only came out as gay as the papers were going go run a story on him grooming the boy. It was a rouse

Windbeneathmybingowings · 15/05/2023 11:57

He came out as gay as the ultimate distraction. So that the public would feel sorry for him that he had to hide it so long, that he felt like he would have no career, that he had to live a lie. Poor victim Phil, when in reality it was to garner public favour when he has been grooming a boy for years and then had him sent off to Loose Women when he no longer fit his purpose. Many other people have been gay in the same time frame as Phil and done very well in the entertainment industry. You are watching a narcissist become the victim before your very eyes.

LuckyRookie · 15/05/2023 11:57

Yeah...it's awkward 😳

Windbeneathmybingowings · 15/05/2023 11:59

And Holly continued to support him during that time. And throughout the queue “please know that we would never jump a queue” etc… bore off, the jig is up Holly and Phil. Kim Woodburn has it right, as she so often does, but people dislike her delivery and so write her off.

Ha yes this

I haven't watched it the ages as I loathe him but decided on the back of this to watch a bit

It was quite uncomfortable to watch

I remember as well that he took the place of John Leslie who was sacked on the back of Ulrika Johnson's Biography

Seems ITV are complete hypocritics allowing Scofe to stay when he's actually been part of much worse

Gothambutnotahamster · 15/05/2023 12:16

I've not liked him since the Fern Britton days and how she was treated then. I have always liked Holly to be fair, but if she really did know what he was up to, the shame on her for covering it up & publicly standing by him.

Somewhat off topic but some PPs snobbery around daytime tv is grim. I have friends who’s jobs aren’t standard hours - tutors, medics etc. Some friends have various health conditions or getting over surgery. Some just happen to like this type of programme. You like what you like.

Calling out snobbery when you're concerned about the effect of something is a bit lame imo. Is it snobby to dislike smoking?

Allmarbleslost · 10/05/2023 10:23

Last time I saw it Richard and Judy were presenting 😂 I can't believe schofield still has his job to be honest.

I'm just about the same but I did watch once when it was Eamonn and Ruth, now that was excruciating. I don't know which one got the prize for smug presenter of the year.

Daytime TV reminds me of being ill 😷

on another note, Phil schofield is a bitter, bitchy pussy 🐈

It reminds me of being glued to the sofa breastfeeding, I was an expert on property shows in those days

Don't worry @Lamelie I'm perfectly happy and successful enough for me 😀

You can be gay and not a cheating groomer 🤨

Frankbutchersfangs · 15/05/2023 12:41

DamnAndDashIt · 15/05/2023 09:43

I've disliked him since I saw him conduct a really awful interview with one of the first victims of Jimmy Savile to speak out. Think that was quite a long time before he came out.

HTH.

Why, what was he like with her?

I have seen him and Holly really look down their nose at people and speak in a hollier than thou manner - someone mentioned upthread that Phil is the bully and Holly is behind him laughing but when the teacher comes she’s like “not me Sir!” - I think that sums the pair of them up nicely.

Ilovecleaning · 15/05/2023 12:44

I’ve only ever seen the programme when we stay overnight in a hotel. DH puts the tv on while we are packing or relaxing after breakfast. I find it arse-achingly boring.

BeverForget · 15/05/2023 12:46

Bring back Nick and Anne!

Notsureonusername · 15/05/2023 12:49

It looked like Holly was tolerating him and it seemed like he just kept butting in every now and then.

MarkWithaC · 15/05/2023 12:55

Why on earth do people come on just to snit about how you don't have to watch it, you can't be happy if you do Hmm and don't you know your TV comes with an off switch?
The OP wants a thread about this subject. If you want to join in, do. If you're not interested, why not just scroll on by rather than being snippy about it?

potniatheron · 15/05/2023 13:08

It was awkward as hell.

Philth is under a lot of pressure.

Let's hope he doesn't do a runner.

AgrathaChristie · 15/05/2023 13:11

I really don’t understand why or how they became so newsworthy? I think I watched their programme once in the 1990s and I’ve seen them spouting on TV in other things occasionally. Neither seem particularly talented or interesting. Perhaps they’ll each invent their new usp and move on to other things.
