Egg chair?

Cathairinmysoup · 06/05/2023 12:20

Thinking of buying an egg chair for the garden with some birthday money. Will it be a beautiful addition to my garden which I shall love and cherish (YANBU) or something that sits in a cover for 90% of the time and just gets crapped on by the pigeons? (YABU to waste your money on this folly)

I love mine, it’s my happy place and I spend every dry day in the summer in it when I’m not working! 😊

I put it in the garage over the winter and during the summer I cover it with an egg chair cover (under £15 from Amazon).

I love mine. It's the Aldi one which used to sell out immediately but is regularly in stock at the moment. Two people have bought one having sat in mine.

NoIncomeTaxNoVAT · 06/05/2023 12:29

Can you sit them directly on the lawn or do you need a patio? I have long fancied one but not sure we have the space 🤔

Jayneisagirlsname · 06/05/2023 12:31

I love mine. I go there to relax and watch the bats in the evening. Because it's curved, it feels sheltered & secluded. Get one!

Cathairinmysoup · 06/05/2023 12:35

Oooh. I can feel a shop coming on! 👏

The egg part of mine folds for easy storage. Got it from The Range last year. Also have a cover for the summer. And you can now get nets of fairy lights too! Love mine. So comfy.

Radi0Wales · 06/05/2023 12:39

Love mine!

QueenMegan · 06/05/2023 12:41

I have one. No one sits in it since it toppled backwards into the pond I should get rid of it but it makes me laugh and the dogs like it

RowenaRosewood · 06/05/2023 12:46

I love mine too. When it's sunny I retreat there and it's like a private little space just for me.

I got one this weekend from Fenwicks. I just need to put it together but as it's raining I haven't bothered yet as the cover hasn't arrived yet.

redspottedmug · 06/05/2023 14:01

I bought the double Aldi one last summer. It came with a cover, and I store my other seat cushions in it too.

Very happy with it.

Heresthelinkthen · 06/05/2023 22:00

I love mine. Small garden, it’s in a sunny corner and it’s comfy and looks pretty. Just left it outside all winter with no issues. It’s not a swinging one though, it’s one with legs, I wanted to be stable 😂

Welshy26 · 06/05/2023 22:11

Absolutely love mine.

Franklin2000 · 06/05/2023 22:14

I love mine. I bought a double one so I can lounge with my feet up, loads of cushions and snuggled in a throw and reading.

Bryonny84 · 06/05/2023 22:17

I've always wanted one of these chairs but have a tiny garden so no space. I've seen one type where the chair part folds flat for storage but they were a lot more expensive than the Aldi ones. If you like it, can afford it and have somewhere to put it then I'd go for it!

Lozzie51 · 06/05/2023 22:23

I love mine. I have it indoors in winter and have added extra cushions and a matching blanket. It's my quiet place.

Borris · 06/05/2023 22:40

I have lost two covers by them blowing up like hot air balloons and disappearing never to be seen again.

So now I keep the chair in the garage and only bring it out on a sunny day if I can be bothered.

If anybody can recommend a better cover I would be mighty grateful

EnglishGirlApproximately · 06/05/2023 22:42

Glad to read that people love them - DS has been begging for one for ages so we've got one on its way. If its as comfy as everyone says i might get myself one too!

Ooh Could we please have some links?

The ones I’ve seen lately are very £££

whoknows1230 · 06/05/2023 22:43

I’ve seen reviews that say this year’s Aldi ones aren’t as good as previous years’. Is that right?

Indiana2021 · 06/05/2023 22:44

Get a cover with a drawstring to seal it at the bottom. Try B&M.

NewLeafAgain · 06/05/2023 22:47

We have the Apolima one from b&q. It was about £300 on offer. It's amazing, really deep and can comfortably snuggle with my two kids on it but I spend so much more time hanging out in my garden now I have such a comfy seat. I actually prefer it to my sofa.

Barbarbarf · 06/05/2023 22:47

I thought these were tacky and shit until I sat in my friend's then immediately bought one. Perfect space to curl up with a bottle of wine and an audio book on a summer's evening. Or tea and toast on a morning.

Doesn't need much room. Mines on the balcony.

This is mine. £500 but currently 20% off. Must have gone up because I paid about £350 with a discount www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-dante-garden-hanging-pod-chair/natural/p2067115
