Kate wore Diana's tiara, not a bespoke one.

Cheers thanks for the fact check I'm making a few mistakes atm !!

Are you sure rattymol? I'd seen it reported it was a new Alexander McQueen piece, but of course that could be wrong too

Roussette · 07/05/2023 11:09

@vera99

Yep. A lipreader has identified what he said whilst waiting.

Entitled impatient ridiculous man.

Kate had a tiara made by Alexander McQueen. Charlotte had one made, matching, and she wore Alexander McQueen too. An 8 year old Hmm

Puzzledandpissedoff · 07/05/2023 11:12

Thanks, Roussette, I see you found the same report I did!!

Okay so I wouldn't have expected Charlotte to turn up in Claire's Accessories, but even so the extravagance was a bit much for, as you say, an eight year old

rattymol · 07/05/2023 11:13

Sorry I read that it was Diana's, looks like I am wrong

No worries @rattymol What's a bejewelled tiara amongst like minded people?! Smile

cakeorwine · 07/05/2023 11:15

Slightly disappointed in Wes Streeting not calling it out this morning. I guess Labour politicians have to be careful not to upset people when it comes to the Monarchy and patriotism.

No need to apologise rattymol ... there's been so much nonsense reported around all this that it's really not easy to pick out facts

He did talk of an investigation. He was very careful I agree.

No worries I'll revert back to my HATE FILLED tirade backed up with some facts. 😂

On the Coro mega thread which out of decorum and politeness I stayed off, we are batshit crazy, apparently. Dissidents in the Soviet Union were sent to psychiatric hospitals as a form of coercive control and drugged up to the eyeballs. I'll settle for sherry..... but it's too early yet to imbibe.

I idly wonder was Charles allowed to keep the Crown by his bed last night so he could wake up and be the first thing he sees ? Or does it have to go back to the Tower pronto ?

Another way of looking at it is Commanding Officer at event meant to run with military precision and timing hears that timing has gone out of the window, leaving the CO stranded on public view.

Some of us here will have been in involved in parades etc and will seen/heard a lot worse in the way of grumbles than what was supposed to have been said yesterday.

I’m no great fan of the royals but on that specific event I’m cutting him some slack.

countrygirl99 · 07/05/2023 11:35

I think most people would be out of sorts at what is, effectively, a big celebration of his mum dying.

3dogsandarabbit · 07/05/2023 12:02

They weren't wearing tiaras, they were flower crowns which were considered more low key.

3dogsandarabbit · 07/05/2023 12:11

vera99 - That was before the coronation, not after he had just got "a big hat", and wtf is "princes of whales". Oh dear!

vera99 · 07/05/2023 12:19

The Telegraph has picked up on the mindless litter and tents left behind as the crowd rushed to get to the balcony shot they left their stuff for others to clear up. They missed out the part of the Coronation memo that talked about volunteering and society. I'm a veteran litter picker at Glastonbury (not selfless I know and get a 'free' ticket and have done for many years. We are a friendly crew but take our job seriously, and I hate littering with a passion, and you don't see it at 'posh' festivals like WOMAD or Kite or others. The DM should name and shame them...

Outrage over litter and abandoned tents on London streets after Coronation

Yes, and no doubt most of the litter leavers will be monarchists who bang on and on about how much Charles cares for the environment Hmm

There are endless answers to that, but they'd probably be no more welcome than suggestions that they could have taken their rubbish with them

Was the "lock on device" a piece of string?

Police right to arrest coronation protesters as UK on global stage, says minister | King Charles coronation | The Guardian

Scotland Yard said they made 52 arrests on Saturday for offences including affray, public order offences, breach of the peace and conspiracy to cause a public nuisance. “Lock-on devices” were seized in the arrest of the Republic organisers, a police statement said. But the group denied having any such equipment. It claimed one protester was arrested for possession of string that was part of a placard.

It sounds like string that was used to secure the placards in the van. Otherwise why not just say what it was instead of using the phrase lock on device.

I have a ball of 'lock on device' in my kitchen drawer. I better make sure I never utilise it.

3dogsandarabbit · 07/05/2023 12:52

vera99 - Agree with you re the litter. I am also a volunteer litter picker and there is no excuse for not clearing up after yourself.

rattymol · 07/05/2023 12:55

I'm worried I might be arrested I travel on my bike with a few actual lock on devices.
