I think milk is horrid, so I find it strange from that point of view. But not from any other - why is it infantile? Or why more so than, say, hot chocolate, which plenty of adults order regularly? It’s just a matter of personal taste.

Kendaland · 05/05/2023 22:18

I just had my pre bedtime glass, ice cold, mmmm

sadly milk doesn't agree with me anymore. but used to like a (small) glass of very cold milk after a run.
but only summer milk.
winter milk from cows fed silage Envy

I've only ever noticed the silage taste from one brand of milk which is local to us. I've never noticed it with any other brand before.

OneTC · 05/05/2023 22:18

I love milk, happy with anything from red to gold, also love oat milk, soya milk and almond milk

sweetcarolinedadada · 05/05/2023 22:20

No different to drinking one or two lattes every day which I'm sure is deemed much more "acceptable"!

PrincessHoneysuckle · 05/05/2023 22:20

I've just had a few glugs out of the bottle.Love it.

AnonKat · 05/05/2023 22:20

I have a glass every morning, always loved milk.

There's another thread on this - apparently adults can't drink milk or fizzy drinks or hot chocolate - it's too childish Wink

So ridiculous. You are never to old to eat, drink or wear what you want!

But the people that make these arbitrary 'rules' would hate me as I am nearly 50 with long hair, I wear jeans and I love a chocolate milkshake or a meal of fish fingers, mash and beans.

Wait till they find out I drink Capri suns!

uninspiredpanda · 05/05/2023 22:25

I'm fond of a cold glass of semi skimmed milk, but I also love a hot microwaved mug of milk in bed when I'm feeling tired or poorly or a bit sorry for myself. A real comfort drink. You can add a little grate of nutmeg if you're feeling fancy as well but I usually go for it plain.

Bullshot · 05/05/2023 22:26

YABU dairy milk is for calves

FunnysInLaJardin · 05/05/2023 22:28

can't bear it, esp after being made to drink warm milk in primary school 😩

Garethkeenansstapler · 05/05/2023 22:31

Milk makes me feel physically ill. I can’t get away from the fact it’s cow’s breast milk, not to mention it tastes vile. I think it’s really bad for your health. YABU

Firstmonthfree · 05/05/2023 22:33

Given the rates of osteoporosis in older women go for it.

Rainyrunway · 05/05/2023 22:33

Bleargh! Milk is gross. Even the thought of it turns my stomach. I have a friend who drinks great big glasses of it and I seriously can't watch. In fact when I did IVF I had to drink a pint a day "for the protein" and I found it worse than all the bloody injections. Yuck yuck yuck

eatdrinkandbemerry · 05/05/2023 22:34

Nope but only because i don't like the stuff 🤣
I can tolerate a bit of skimmed in my coffee.
My partner doesn't drink hot drinks and drinks about 3 pints of full fat milk a day. I don't know how he stays so skinny 🤣

Rainyrunway · 05/05/2023 22:35

And yeah I do sort of think theres something infantile about it. Probably just because it's what little kids drink I guess but I don't think I could be with a man who drank milk with his dinner for example. Would completely give me the ick.

itsnofairytale · 05/05/2023 22:37

I like milk and occasionally have a glass of it. I even been known to buy myself gold top once in a while 'as a treat'. I also occasionally have a glass of Nesquik chocolate milk so I'm sure many would disapprove!

I don't know any other adults out of my friends/ family who'll drink a glass of milk though. So maybe it is unusual. 😁

mrsbyers · 05/05/2023 22:38

Love love love milk and have been known to order a pint of it in a restaurant / bar

just getting into bed with a glass of semi at the moment

maddiemookins16mum · 05/05/2023 22:38

I often have a glass of cold milk with my lunch.
MN is very strange when it comes to cows milk though, it gets very weird on here.

Rainyrunway · 05/05/2023 22:39

You order milk in a bar? 😯

HoldingTheDoor · 05/05/2023 22:41

Would completely give me the ick.

The use of the term "The Ick" is also incredibly infantile.

Tillyteacup · 05/05/2023 22:42

Fine if you enjoy it. However we are not designed to drink milk past weaning age and some studies have linked milk to breast cancer as milk is designed to make baby mammals grow very fast which can trigger cancer due to growth hormone (I think anyway, it was a while ago I read this!)

Yeah so bad for your health that my dairy farmer great grandmother lived to be 106 and her daughter 98. Both drank milk every day, didn't seem to harm them.

Necrotic · 05/05/2023 22:43

I like milk but it blows a hole in my trousers and makes my bum poorly
