Out having a drink with a friend yesterday when she noticed she had a knot in her hair and laughed about it and said “oh I never brush my hair, my boyfriend brushes my hair for me”

She has no disability that prevents her from brushing her hair and seemingly managed to do it just fine in the 30 years she didn’t know him.

Aibu to think it’s odd a grown woman with no disability has her boyfriend brush her hair?

how is this your business?

Kitkatcatflap · 01/05/2023 23:36

Is her name Rapunzel?

Notimeforaname · 01/05/2023 23:37

But maybe he does brush her hair...

pteradactyl · 01/05/2023 23:39

I just think its inconvenient, surely?!

Forgottenmypasswordagain · 01/05/2023 23:40

What did you say in response to that OP?

switswooo · 01/05/2023 23:42

Sounds like a bizarre brag because it just doesn’t ring true.

I brush my hair every morning before my shower, in a sleepy daze. If DH offered to brush it for me I’d look at him like WTF. The only time I tolerate someone brushing my hair is at the hairdressers.

Sounds like she’s extrapolated a couple of brushings into her never brushing her hair anymore.

I’d just ignore about it, people brag about the weirdest things.

Iwantamarshmallowman · 01/05/2023 23:45

.. so you just had to rush home and put it on mumsnet.. I think you need to get out more op.

MattTebbuttsDenimShirt · 01/05/2023 23:45

Couldn't give a shit.

I'd probably say - ha! What a weirdo and move in. In? On!

Motheranddaughtertotwo · 01/05/2023 23:45

Each to their own. It’s not for me but I’d laugh if one of my friends said that. I wouldn’t side eye someone just because they do things I don’t.

Stripycatz · 01/05/2023 23:52

Dh brushed my hair once. It was just after an emergency section and I was out of it on morphine. He wanted to take a photo of me and baby.

When I saw the photos (which had already been distributed to family) he'd managed to make me look like an early Ken Barlow.

matisses6fingers · 01/05/2023 23:54

Is her boyfriend Nicky Clarke?

LaLaLaNotListeningNotListening · 01/05/2023 23:54

Ken Barlow 😂

And you needed advice from internet strangers about this why?

I mean yeah probably, but of an odd thing to lie about. It’s just … odd.

It's a bit 'out there' yes, but if they're happy then they're happy.

It is a bit weird but you starting this thread about it is even weirder I think.

I mean, why? Confused

Not sure where any advice was sought?

But also when do a majority of threads posted actually really need to be posted for the internet strangers?

Ex used to brush mine after my shower, it was part of our closeness. It's far more pleasurable when someone else does it!

Oh you silly billy, this was yesterday as stated in the OP, but sorry Sophia Ritchie, I’ll try and get out more despite posting about a time I was out in the last 24 hours, thanks for the life advice xox

I have mine brushed every 2-3 weeks by the hairdresser. No pleasure in it and I’m paying her.

I had an ex who liked to brush my hair. I didn't think it was weird, I think we both found it quite relaxing. Never occurred to me it would be viewed as strange. It also didn't mean I didn't brush my own hair. Each to their own 🤷🏻‍♀️

TillyTollyTully · 02/05/2023 00:11

Each to their own bla bla bla...but yes, it seems odd to me.

Dh has cut my hair for me before and dyed it...but only because I was finding it difficult to do the back. I can't imagine getting him or anyone else to regularly brush my hair, why would you?

Actually, I lie. Ds3 likes to brush my hair. But y'know he's 5...

Mydcchangedmyusername · 02/05/2023 00:12

Ooh OP is calling names <checks clock> I'm here to stay.
