Anyone not got any neighbour problems?

Neighbour problems seem a popular thing. Just wondered is there anyone who dosent have a neighbour problem of somesort?

We've had our fair share
Parking, fences, noise, do you ever worry about neighbour problems escalating.
Remember the young couple who were stabbed by their neighbour over parking. He got into their house and killed them.
Parking seems to be the worse one.

Does anyone worry about things getting out of hand?😭😒

Our neighbours are all fine. Widower next door (joined on, semi-detached), no bother at all. Lady other side, the same. Never see her really. Both people in their late 60s. Policeman living facing us Smile. We're early 60s, lived here 32 years.

Shivermetimbers0112 · 01/05/2023 15:53

My neighbours, current and past, have been uniformly lovely people. There’s no story to tell when people are decent, posting about the nightmare ones is a form of catharsis.

defi · 01/05/2023 15:54

Mine are lovely

OhmygodDont · 01/05/2023 15:54

All fine here. Direct neighbour is like 90 something.

Then our other in attached neighbours are chill with us and we are chill with them. They want a party that’s cool, our kids have mates around to play in our pool that’s cool. Take in each others parcel and do Christmas gifts.

KimberleyClark · 01/05/2023 15:56

We used to have neighbours in the adjoining semi who seemed to live their liv3 at full volume. Fortunately they moved and were replaced with normal people we hardly hear at all

coffeecupsandwaxmelts · 01/05/2023 15:56

Ours are all absolutely fine. Never had a single problem.

JanBlue · 01/05/2023 15:57

No problems with ours either in this house or previous homes. Unlike my brother who had a neighbour from hell who almost burned their house down 😳

Joewasmyfave · 01/05/2023 15:58

We have lovely neighbours now so lucky it’s a lovely quiet close and everyone is friendly and nice.
we were in a horrendous situation 4 years ago- new build estate, arguments frequently due to people on the street falling out over parking, a pub nearly added to that parking situation, horrible teens constantly kicking ball against house - which their mums didn’t think was an issue 🙈
anyway roll on 4 years we luckily were the first people to move out, they’ve extended the estate by another 100 houses so parking even worst, lots more anti social behaviour issues there and it’s got an appalling reputation so the horrid neighbours did us a massive favour we’d struggle to sell if we’d stayed any longer - so thank you 🙏😂

Backtoreality1 · 01/05/2023 15:58

Current ones are lovely. On nodding acquantance with some and just co-exist with the others. At one of my previous properties I had right of access over the garden of a neighbour for bins etc.....she was a right miserable cow from the moment I moved in.

stbrandonsboat · 01/05/2023 15:59

Everyone's fine where I am.

Babyroobs · 01/05/2023 15:59

Had a recent problem with one of them hacking the shared hedge down excessively leaving a huge gaping hole so that we can see straight into their garden and them into ours. He is also just generally loud/ a know it all / a bit racist/ a bit of an idiot. The other side are fine now their very noisy kids are older.

WeeblesWobbled · 01/05/2023 16:01

I have really lovely neighbours on both sides. Lives here for 12 years and have never had a problem. I hope this thread doesn’t jinx it.

RoseyLentil · 01/05/2023 16:01

Our neighbours are lovely which is just as well cos we are semidetached in a rural location. Both been her nearly 30 years. They were round ours last night for food, drink and board games. Nr Nextdoor helped my hubby with some diy this morning and they are working on an outside project together atm. We're going round theirs later for a mayday bbq and I'm taking pudding.
We are very very lucky.

MangoBiscuit · 01/05/2023 16:02

I'm very lucky to have wonderful neighbours. We feed each others pets when the others away, lend tools, take in parcels etc. Never had an issue with fences or parking. I was worried that we'd be the problem neighbour when I moved in with 2 young-ish DC, but neighbours assured me they couldn't hear us. Really this place isn't big enough for us any more, but I don't want to move and risk getting shitty neighbours. I've been there, and it wasn't fun.

mycatsanutter · 01/05/2023 16:03

Due to the street lay out and other factors we actually have 6 neighbours , no problem with any of them , one has become a very close friend in fact .

DustyLee123 · 01/05/2023 16:05

Neighbour one side is an absolute pain, drives over the edge of my lawn to wind me up, and thinks he owns the joint fence.

Mygym · 01/05/2023 16:10

We are lucky to have really good neighbours, had trouble previous houses with noise.

CurlyTop1980 · 01/05/2023 16:10

My current neighbours are lovely.

But when buying this house I had 2 conditions.

  1. A driveway
2.Detatched.

I honestly didn't care about the condition of the property. I also didn't care how long it took to find a house that had these.

This was because my previous neighbour experiences have been awful. Weed smoking, hearing domestic violence, police call outs, dogs on the loose, hearing sex/bed going above me, parking issues. You name it I've had to deal with it.

PaperNests · 01/05/2023 16:12

We've rented in lots of different places and never had any neighbour problems. Although since having our noisy kids I sometimes worry if we're the problem neighbours but no-ones ever spoken to us. We don't drive and our neighbours on both sides have 3 cars so I think that helps, there are always several cars parked in front of our house, if we also had 3 cars maybe we'd have had some clashes!

QueenSmartypants · 01/05/2023 16:13

My neighbours and I have a relationship of polite disinterest and it suits us all fine :)

TheChosenTwo · 01/05/2023 16:14

We’ve been okay with ours.
we hate the tree on the non attached side, asked them to cut it down - they said no, we asked if we could cut back the quarter tree that was hanging over into our garden they said yes, absolutely fine. She had a fall recently and dh called an ambulance and jumped the fence to be with her while she came, she fell in the garden and couldn’t move. She came home 4 days later and we went round with some Cook meals and flowers, they are an older couple and we are very fond of them.
side that’s attached have been fine on the whole. We let each other know if we are expecting noisy gatherings etc and it’s me never been a problem, a couple of times a year for each of us.

spiderlight · 01/05/2023 16:16

Our neighbours are lovely. Friendly retired couple one side - the husband shares a love of gardening with my DH, so they swap seedlings in the spring and produce in the summer/autumn. The other side are fairly new - youngish couple with a DS a few years younger than ours, very quiet, but friendly when we happen to bump into them. We did have a slightly odd woman across the road for a couple of years when we first moved here but she's long gone, and everyone else at this end of the street is nice and normal! (Does this mean we're the odd ones...?)

bloodywhitecat · 01/05/2023 16:16

I only have three neighbours but they are all lovely, they helped me through some really hard times last year and continue to help by doing jobs like cutting the hedge for me. If I ever have a problem I know I can call on them and likewise, I am always there to help out when I can. We chat over the hedge and sometimes share a coffee and cakes.

Missingmyusername · 01/05/2023 16:17

We do have issues with the elderly chap next to us. He’s obsessed with watering his trees and will do it in the middle of the day. Hosing our washing and occasionally us in the process. He shouts for us to get in the house. We think he may have some kind of dementia so what can you do. We can hear his wife shouting at him to water the roots of the trees not the top of them, but 🤷🏼‍♀️
It’s just very annoying to come home and find everything wet. Luckily we have a balcony and he can’t wet that.

STLLAP08 · 01/05/2023 16:19

No issues for ten years thank god but before then with previous neighbours a nightmare
