To hate my Eufy?

MySugarBabyLove · 29/04/2023 12:58

I have been reading for years on here about the love for Eufy, how great it is, how it’s transformed people’s cleaning etc so I finally bit the bullet and bought one. And what a huge disappointmentt and waste of money it is.

I barely picks up anything, I hoover three times a week and still the eufy is absolutely shite.

So why the hype? I surely can’t be the only one?

Also, I don’t know if they’ve sorted it with subsequent models but our Eufy was a vampire and was actually killed by sunlight. Apparently it was a known issue.

balzamico · 29/04/2023 14:31

Mine is brilliant, best on hard floor but pretty good on carpet too.
Their customer service is really good if you have a problem and it sounds like yours does

Don't get a sh*tty Eufy, get a Roborock! Eufy's are in the stone age of robot vacuums.

TicTac80 · 29/04/2023 15:09

I'm really surprised! I have a non-top-of-the-range Eufy, which is about 2yrs old, and it's never skipped a beat. I program it to come on every morning at about 5am. With 4 cats and 2DC, it picks up loads! Downstairs floors are wooden floors, and quarry tiles, with a large (low pile rug in front room).

It might be worth sending it back and having it replaced?

KnottyKnitting · 29/04/2023 15:15

Mine is great- Eufy 30c (AKA Bernard) -fairly basic model but picks up well on carpet on the strongest setting and does well with solid floors so long as the brush is cleaned and the bin emptied. Also have to make sure the filters are regularly cleaned. Admittedly it's not as good as my upright shark but that one is cumbersome and heavy!

Devoutspoken · 29/04/2023 16:37

Im curious, How do they know when it's time to redock?

Monkeybutt1 · 29/04/2023 17:16

We have a Deebot and it's amazing she's called Deirdre and she mops as well as hoovering 😁

OnTheRoll · 29/04/2023 17:25

Mine is called Robert and he is working so hard! I love him for it

1930toEdinburgh · 29/04/2023 17:26

The filters need robust maintenance?

pfftt · 29/04/2023 17:27

I have no idea what an Eufy is but reading your title, I thought it was a euphemism for gentials for some reason 🫣

1930toEdinburgh · 29/04/2023 17:35

Giving it a Nick name should be part of the buying contract. Mines got a name a some pet names when he's being good.
And some when he's choking on something.
And some when he misbehaves

And yes. I'm crazy

hungryh1ppo · 29/04/2023 17:42

Mine is fab and I have a St Bernard and 2 dc. I still hoover a few times a week but the Eufy goes round daily and freshens everything up. I love it. It always makes it back to its dock too. I would see if you can exchange yours.

We have the same or a similar one. Ours is Nessie Grin

I'm a cleaner and I agree with you Op. I see so many of the damn things shoved into cupboards under the stairs because people bought them and they are crap. Total waste of money. They pick up next to nothing and do not go into the corners or around edges of things. Those of you saying they are great, I'm guessing you all just don't look to closely at the floor after they are done. I've had to hoover after they were done.

Mine has an edges cleaning setting on it. It's not meant to replace full vacuuming anyway

Rainbowshit · 29/04/2023 18:43

I have two. I think they're amazing. One mops as well as hoovers.

Thedogscollar · 29/04/2023 18:45

Deadpalm · 29/04/2023 14:19

It's a brand. It's also doorbell, smart appliances etc.
I am assuming this thread is about robot hoover

Thankyou @Deadpalm
I'm happy hoovering myself can't see how it can get into the corners and down by skirting boards. Maybe it's ok just for a quick once over.

LampLamp · 29/04/2023 18:51

I love mine.
I used to hoover every day and now only get Hetty out once a week for a deep clean.

Sounds like your machine might have a fault.

weekfour · 29/04/2023 18:54

We had an eufy. Then we got a puppy.

Eufy Was on a timer and the puppy did a poo..... We came downstairs to dog shit smeared everywhere. In a hypnotic zig zag pattern. We don't have an eufy anymore.

Dahliasrule · 29/04/2023 19:06

I love my eufy, but we only use it on the hard floors in the kitchen, hall and breakfast room. I don’t use it in the living room, not because of the carpet, but because it will keep ‘humping’ DH’s recliner chair, the sort with wooden splayed legs.

thefactsarefriendly · 29/04/2023 19:11

Ours is called Simone De Houvoir. She started well but is a bit demented now. I use her on hard floors mostly, and she does pick quite a lot up. I'm not sure a quick swipe with a broom isn't actually faster and more efficient, though.

SteveBuscemisRheumyEye · 29/04/2023 19:15

Mine was the same and then a year after getting it it completely died. Eufy were beyond useless and didn't help at all.

ColdHandsHotHead · 29/04/2023 19:17

Is there anything in its bin when you empty it?

Norriscolesbag · 29/04/2023 19:19

Yes not impressed here either. Constantly makes a beeline for the same spot under the sofa it gets stuck every single time.

Most of us have them to supplement, not replace a normal hoover. We've raised the sofa and beds so it can get under them - areas we wouldn't hoover regularly. That's how we keep on top of the excessive volumes of dog fluff.... It also reduces how much fluff then transfers to clothing and soft furnishings.

I doubt every household hoovers daily - we certainly don't need to any more. I've just done a deep clean of the house today using my industrial hoover (Henry pissed me off too much, this one is designed for construction work and has a HEPA filter).
