For wondering who gives a shit that James Corden hosted his last show last night?

I am absolutely baffled at the coverage this is getting. It's bizarre.

Admittedly, I cannot stand the unfunny prick, but I am utterly baffled.

Primetime BBC news, clips being played on the radio, mentioned in every hourly new bulletin, masses of coverage on the internet.

Man leaves job - big fucking wow!!!!!!!!!

Huh. I've never really got the James Corden hate to be honest. Plus I love Gavin and Stacey so I can't get too worked up about him. Plenty worse around.

Although, I am dyslexic so I will have to thoroughly proof read my instructions so I don’t accidentally write my wishes for my stone as “marinated in SPRITE”, which was how I read it the first time 🤣

Not as much as my dads did though. He had a little book of all the celebrities he hated, he started it in 1950 when he was 14. He would add people and then tick them off when they died.

He’s got dementia now and can’t tell you which was is up, but I have taken it over. He’s really racking them up now, I’ve had to tick off a hell of a lot of names over the last few years on his behalf.

Now that is living with your soul marinated in spite.

(James Corden is on my dads list, he was one of the last people he added before he became ill).

I love Gavin and Stacey and don’t quite get why everyone hates him so much. But I’ve never watched his talk show and agree there is a lot of coverage so YANBU.

Tbf, they are very good friends, and they've both had some rough times so it seems, so they were probably more upset about that, and him leaving America than the talk show. I can understand that.

I like James Corden, I think he’s talented with a good range of skills for TV and stage. I also really enjoy Gavin and Stacey and have watched it all through quite a few times.
It would be a very boring world if we all liked the same thing!

There are hundreds of names that have been added over the years. Some of the name are duplicated obviously decades apart when he forgot he added them.

Des O’connor was in there four times! Fuck knows how he offended my dad for that to happen.

For context, my dad worked at an international airport as the VIP security manager for decades. So he escorted everyone who was anyone off the planes and though the airport, celebrities, royalty, politicians and spent time with them all. So it meant that most of the ones on his list must have been a prick to him in real life as well as just taking a dislike to people on the telly.

(He loved Donald trump because he always remembered me and would give my dad a fist full of notes to buy me something with).

I think celebs live in a world where they are so used to sycophancy and people fawning over them, that they believe their own hype. They think that they and their work is Very Important. Esp in the US.

Never seen anything with this person in but I know of him. I find the whole cult of celebrity bizarre really.

I get why its news... it's been big news in the States as the late late show is such an institution. So totally get why its a story here too as he's a Brit.

Joe Biden did a piece saying goodbye FFS which is kind of noteworthy.

Full disclosure though, my soul is totally marinaded in spite and I think he seems like a twat and is really unlikeable. He's a fascinating character as so successful but so hated.

Also I loved the boozy panda thread so thanks for that.

Greetings, kindred spirit! I thought I was the only one. Virtually everyone else raves about it. I think most of the cast are great actually but they are wasted on an AWFUL script and cheesy story. It's so bad 🤦🏻‍♂️

I thought it was weird how much publicity the BBC was giving to a presenter leaving a show we don't watch in the UK. I can only conclude that - sadly - he has signed a deal with the BBC and they are trying to ramp up his currency for when is it is announced 😕
