I am absolutely baffled at the coverage this is getting. It's bizarre.

Admittedly, I cannot stand the unfunny prick, but I am utterly baffled.

Primetime BBC news, clips being played on the radio, mentioned in every hourly new bulletin, masses of coverage on the internet.

Man leaves job - big fucking wow!!!!!!!!!

There is so much sourness on here. What do you get out of this? Go admire the blossom. Make a cup of tea. Stop marinading your soul in spite.

blacksax · 28/04/2023 14:49

His last show? Good. He's a twat and I have never understood the fuss made about him.

Anyotherdude · 28/04/2023 14:49

I agree - it’s non-news. Although unfortunately it means we all know he’s headed back to the UK🥱

Neededanewuserhandle · 28/04/2023 14:50

I agree who at the BBC thinks this is news? Twats.

MrBit · 28/04/2023 14:52

Agree

WestendVBroadway · 28/04/2023 14:53

@CatchYouOnTheFlippetyFlop This IS important breaking news. Now we can all breath easy knowing that we may never be unlucky enough to accidently stumble across this excuse for a presenter. I for one have the celebratory flags out.😆😆

MrsTerryPratchett · 28/04/2023 14:54

Media people are obviously going to think a media person is more interesting than they are. THEY think it's significant because it would be to them.

They'll lose interest. They're like goldfish.

Oh God yes this! Why can’t they just bloody keep him?! 😩

Panfriedscallops · 28/04/2023 15:00

Same. Glad it's not just me scratching my head wondering why this is on BBC news. I'm sure it's a big news in the Cordon household and maybe for the US network. Has he brought in the big ratings?

The carpool karaoke was a big deal for a time. Maybe it's that 🤷‍♀️

ifthe · 28/04/2023 15:03

Could mean he is looking to make a return to British TV and then we'll be bothered. Much prefer it if the Americans keep him

Boughtitdownthemarket · 28/04/2023 15:05

No one cares.

It's weird isn't it?
I don't like James Corden. I don't watch James Corden. I watched one Karaoke carpool and was bemused. I thought Gavin and Stacey (apart from Alison Steadman) was dire.
But it wouldn't cross my mind to start a thread about it.

The OP does.

Whiskeypowers · 28/04/2023 15:08

man toddler with appalling manners and nasty streak

AceofPentacles · 28/04/2023 15:11

I was hoping he had retired from all public appearances

Julietand · 28/04/2023 15:17

I think he’s hilarious. And leaving a big job. It’s quite normal for this situation to be a reported-on topic in the press. A very famous person leaves their very successful show? Totally normal to be reported on.

BellatrixLestrangesHeatedCurlers · 28/04/2023 15:19

Every time I see his name, I feel the urge to read the disastrous Reddit AMA thread. Google "james corden boozy panda" and have a laugh.

aperolspritzbasicbitch · 28/04/2023 15:20

I like him 💁🏻‍♀️

Love Gavin and Stacey, loved him in cats (I'll grab my own coat) and although I don't stream the show, I do watch the big carpool karaoke.

He's a British guy who has forged a good career for himself, that's probably why it's noteworthy.

'marinading your soul in spite' haha. I like that phrase

I'm really not though. I just think it's all a bit daft.

I don't really 'get' anything out of it. Does anyone who posts something on AIBU?

Is it a necessity to get some kind of inner fulfilment from posting something inane on an internet forum?

Namaste 😛

I feel the same, he’s ok but is there nothing else going on in the world?

You wouldn't start a thread, but you would read a thread about him, then post on it haha.

Yes - loads of stuff (although you wouldn't think so at the moment), but you don't come to AIBU to read about world news do you?

Jesus Christ 🙄

My soul is marinating in the spite of my hatred for lots of celebrities.

Not as much as my dads did though. He had a little book of all the celebrities he hated, he started it in 1950 when he was 14. He would add people and then tick them off when they died.

He’s got dementia now and can’t tell you which was is up, but I have taken it over. He’s really racking them up now, I’ve had to tick off a hell of a lot of names over the last few years on his behalf.

Now that is living with your soul marinated in spite.

(James Corden is on my dads list, he was one of the last people he added before he became ill).

ApocalypseNowt · 28/04/2023 15:31

I managed to avoid this news somehow!

If he does head back to the UK let's all hide behind the curtains and pretend no-one's home.
