Mine is that Derren Brown’s dad was my swimming teacher when I was in primary school.

I was in the top set too, only time I’ve ever been any good at a sport!

Whats yours?

For 3 month's in the 90's I dated a sex pistol

I hugged Johnny Rotten once.

Andy Serkis bought me a pint once (my OH worked for him).

Grandfather in law was a director, grandmother in law acted in some films (including a 007 one) and used to do photoshoots/modelling I believe. Met the Queen and [then] Prince Charles too.

I've been in some photos in the local newspaper, school related things.

I used to do a 'talking newspaper for the blind' in school with a few other kids in my year, so my voice has been heard by a few local people I assume.

My mum got us posters signed by Micheal Eavis XD And I think she has some napkins signed by the Archbishop or something somewhere too.

Mum had a letter from Mark Bolan but she foolishly ripped it up when he died.

A member of my (close) family was responsible for banning Donald Trump from a social media platform (not Twitter)

I had a slow dance with Brian Tilsley from Coronation St at The Millionaire club in Manchester when I was a lass. Also regularly used to catch the same bus to college as Phil Oakey before he was famous. Gosh I’m old.

I worked in a bookshop with Phil Oakey in the early 70's!
Lovely guy.

Linda Biscuits off of current telly Late Night Lycett... I know her mum!

Also current telly, Dog Academy - I have shared boozy pub dinners with both Jo Pay and Victoria Stilwell.

I have loads more like this, they are very weak indeed!

TrappedPotato · 27/04/2023 16:54

I was on a quiz team with Dermott O'Leary's parents.
I sang at Shadow from Gladiators wedding.

longtompot · 27/04/2023 17:38

I was at primary school with Richard Hill, England rugby union player. He was (still is) a couple of years younger than me

Lougle · 27/04/2023 17:44

My 15th great grandfather is King James 5th of Scotland.

cptartapp · 27/04/2023 18:01

I sat through a Man City match next to Ricky Hatton at Maine Road.
My friend served behind the bar in Runcorn when Gary Barlow played the keyboards.
Paul Scholes and family queued behind us at check in at Manchester airport.
I nursed Jimmy Nail's uncle.
I once sold Rory Bremner's daughter a pair of shoes.

ThisIsTrifficult · 27/04/2023 18:07

I was close friends with David Gandy's next door neighbours.
Apparently he was very lovely but my friend's DH wasn't too keen on her answering the door when David came by for missed parcels! 😂

Met black lace.

Charlottewebsbabies · 27/04/2023 18:08

When I was about 16,I was walking down the street-on my way to town

Saw a bloke at the other side of the street who looked really familiar

As I was trying to work out where I knew him,the penny dropped

It was king charles-hes a lot taller in real life but he stoops

I remember I just carried on walking, totally non plused and my parents didn't believe me until he was in the papers the next day

Horrorqueen81 · 27/04/2023 18:11

UnctuousUnicorns · 27/04/2023 01:37

I was in the same form at school as the sports presenter Sally Nugent, which will probably only mean anything to you if you follow sport, which I don't.

She's on BBC Breakfast as a main presenter several mornings each week.

PinkPomeranian · 27/04/2023 18:24

Most tenuous is that I once sold a packet of fags to Natalie Cassidy (Sonia Jackson off Eastenders). 😆

Giselletheunicorn · 27/04/2023 18:26

My second cousin is a voice actor and does the voices on tons of kids cartoons.

MelloYellow · 27/04/2023 18:32

I used to go out with Wiley

Theoldcuriosityshop · 27/04/2023 18:47

My niece is marrying a famous actors brother.

AurelianSnake · 27/04/2023 18:57

I was pictured on the front page of the local free newspaper, kissing Jimmy Cricket. I was about 5, and we were on a school trip at a local attraction. They picked me and another girl, to kiss him on each cheek for the photo- I doubt that'd happen now!

In my late teens, I was also quoted in a couple of national newspapers after firing off an angry email to a newspaper's letters page, after work one night, about racism during the SARS crisis that I'd witnessed that day. They matched some of the details in my letter to a story in the local newspaper to find my workplace. Apparently when you select the option to withhold your name on the letters page it doesn't apply when they decide to use it in an article... 🙄 I nearly got fired. Lesson learnt!

Ontheperiphery79 · 27/04/2023 19:01

I went to school with Kate Middleton.
To see me today, you wouldn't even be able to guess I'd been to private school, as life turned out very differently to how I'd envisaged!

JaffaCake70 · 27/04/2023 19:04

My Cousin is Rob Grant, writer and producer of Spitting Image and Red Dwarf, he also had a No1 single with The Chicken Song 😂

Shannith · 27/04/2023 19:05

I was in Sean of the Dead. Well I was used as a fake badly made up zombie so they could do test scenes. A friend of a friend was a producer and we lived round the corner.

So not even in the movie. And we would have been cut even if were were as we did not take our brief flirtation with fame well.

We were quite fast zombies. And zombies that tripped each other up trying to get into shot. And giggled.

That's pretty tenuous. Still it was filmed around where I lived so I recognised loads of the locations.

Could have been a contender.

Carpool88 · 27/04/2023 19:12

I once met Nelson Mandela and shook his hand.
