Loft conversion

This feels a little indulgent as we have a reasonably large house but I really dislike the master bedroom - too small and cramped.

I have booked an appt to get a quote but just want to make sure I am not biting off more than I can chew.

If people don't mind sharing, what has a dormer loft conversion cost in the last few years?

Appreciate it can vary but just looking for a ball park!

Thanks!

@Lwrenagain nope. We are living through ours (with 3 pre school DCs). Might go away for a couple of days whilst the knock through happens.

Quoted 4-6 weeks, but already delayed because of waiting for materials.

Thank you!

Depends who you use - £45 - 65K

@Willyoujustbequiet which builders did you use for your loft?

It was my neighbour not me. They just used a local firm here in the north east.

pponk · 30/12/2023 10:03

@Willyoujustbequiet I'm in the North East too so wondering who as that seems incredibly reasonable.

Willyoujustbequiet · 30/12/2023 10:13

It was probably coming up best part of 2 years ago now but I think they began with a B. Sorry can't remember much more than that.

South coast in 2021 was 30k for full width dormer, large master bedroom with bathroom, hall and stairs. Another 5k was spent on flooring, replacing all doors to fire doors, decorating and furniture.
