Anyone have a bunny rabbit like this? Desperate mum.

My son has one toy who goes everywhere with him. He often says he couldn't bear to be without him and can't sleep without him. Well, some children threw it in a river when he very briefly left it at the park yesterday. The devastation is awful. Does anyone have a bunny like this they're willing to part with? All costs covered. My son washed him recently and found his nose is actually pink.

Thank you.

Another recommendation for the book Tatty Ratty. And your lost toy is a bunny so it's perfect.

Is this him do you think? x

Shock It would be fantastic if the bunny has been located, it is a coincidence if not given how alike they appear!

It could be hoppy. We're near Ballycastle in Northern Ireland. Is that anywhere near you?

Oh no sorry! Right down south here in England!! I must have missed that important bit of info. Hope you got one sorted anyway.

We bought a 'back-up blue bunny' for this exact reason! ♥️♥️

Update: I have bought the bunny from eBay that was shown here by MeropeRiddle - I did an image search and found him on eBay.

I can't thank you all enough for the suggestions, advice and overwhelmingly kind offers. You are all lovely people and I'm so grateful.

You'll have to tell your son that the river gave him a good clean up so he doesn't look quite so scruffy ♥️♥️

Awh my dd is a teen but I still remember trying to replace her special teddy. She never ever accepted the new one. The old one was found, and 10 years later she still calls one "teddy" and one "new teddy" and looks at it in disgust 😂

I hope your boy can grow to love new bunny 😊

Thank you. What a coincidence!

Replacement Hoppy has arrived from a very kind eBay seller who sent him next day delivery and we're off to discover him on the river bank. I don't think we'll get a closer match but obviously he doesn't look exactly the same. Fingers crossed he is accepted and the river adventures cover story isn't questioned.

Thank you again everyone. Mumsnet at its finest.

Sorry missed all updates as I was so pleased to find one!

HaggisBurger · 27/04/2023 15:11

awww hoping the reunion goes well!!!

I always had a “no precious cuddlers out and about” rule having had an early experience of a Muzzy green toy being dropped out of a buggy.

I broke it on one occasion with my youngest and of course we lost the blimmin toy on the bus. Luckily I realised a few minutes after getting off - and managed to hail the same bus coming in the return direction about 15 minutes later. There was the cuddly toy sat happily on the bus.

I really hope Hoppy II is accepted without too much drama! Let us know!

Desperatelyseekingbunny · 27/04/2023 21:50

Thank you for all your kind comments and suggestions. Hoppy II was 'discovered' by my son at the river's edge this afternoon. There has been washing, rejoicing and a little bit of doubt. Overall, he believes it's Hoppy back from a huge adventure looking slightly different as a result.

Hoppy is staying home after this.

Thank you all so very much.

Oh wow. Lovely to hear about Hoppy 2!

I remember losing a fur seal in the river and my dad made a big thing of throwing a net out etc for the best part of an hour trying to retrieve him.

looking back now he literally had no chance of a successful rescue but it certainly made me less sad 😊
