My son has one toy who goes everywhere with him. He often says he couldn't bear to be without him and can't sleep without him. Well, some children threw it in a river when he very briefly left it at the park yesterday. The devastation is awful. Does anyone have a bunny like this they're willing to part with? All costs covered. My son washed him recently and found his nose is actually pink.

Thank you.

Is there any chance hoppy could still be rescued from the river? is it a fast flowing river or very wide? or is it shallow? is there a possibility it could have been caught up on an embankment nearby?
looks like people have posted some very similar looking bunnies though if not.

My husband has been up and down the river - it's hard to know for certain but I can't imagine anyone looking harder than he has.

This book is wonderful for explaining why beloved toys sometimes come back looking, feeling or smelling a little bit different.

Thank you!

Pretty sure that is a Jellycat Bashful Bunny in beige, possibly size small maybe extra small. My dd has those bunnies in sizes extra small, small, medium and large, I can post a picture for size reference if that would be helpful. The fur on them goings matted when they are well loved

SootysCaravan · 25/04/2023 12:29

Green one is very much loved like your DS’s and the ‘small’ one is the one in the middle. The tiny one was from John Lewis if it helps

That's so kind, thank you.

If you manage to locate one in the North we’re happy to locate and distress him (in the nicest possible way) Will post with a note explaining his adventures

Starburst8 · 25/04/2023 13:15

If its a jelly cat one it should have the tag, unless that's been cut off? My son has a varied collection of them and it looks like that bunny is the small size. That being said, it does look like a very worn Bashful bunny in the beige colour which are still in production. So buying a replacement shouldn't be an issue.
I hope you manage to get your replacement, my little boy would be besides himself if he lost one of his.

JassyRadlett · 25/04/2023 13:18

OP - I think we've got that one in grey. He's 7 years old but in reasonable nick. I'll take a picture of him when we get home and ask my youngest if he'd be happy to gift him to a little boy who had his taken - DS2 has always been ambivalent about him.

DS1 is 11 and has the blue one and no way would he ever give up Blue Bunny!

dreamersdown · 25/04/2023 13:18

A few goes in the washing machine will really help distress him!

JassyRadlett · 25/04/2023 13:23

Would obv also write a letter to explain how we found him washed down the river being cared for by a family of frogs, and gave him a loving wash that explains any difference in colour/texture, and invent a good adventure for him.

Milkand2sugarsplease · 25/04/2023 13:24

I'll have a look in DS's room when he's up but I'm sure we have something similar.x

bellswithwhistles · 25/04/2023 13:30

Have you left it in the river?! I'd have gone in and got in lol.

Favouritefruits · 25/04/2023 13:36

I can’t part with ‘Rabbity’ but I can confirm she’s definitely a jelly at that has been through the wash a fair few times, it’s a small not medium. It’s available in most Waterstones stores.

This one is beige with a pink nose (although the pic makes him look greyer than he is. ) My hand for size

CandlelightGlow · 25/04/2023 13:43

I'm very sorry to say that I don't have one spare but just wanted to say I understand, this is the exact same attachment object as my daughter's!

They look quite different brand new but don't let it put you off, they quickly turn back to that slightly crumpled looking form Grin

Haven't RTFT but this is the Medium size bashful bunny in Blush. They fade to almost whitish so again while it looks quite different, they quickly turn into the pictured bunny when owned by a child who loves them and snuggles them frequently!

CandlelightGlow · 25/04/2023 13:43

Link here - they're still for sale.

SRK16 · 25/04/2023 13:44

Def a beige small bashful bun. My son has the silver one. The fur is in that state from washing and drying. I bought a replacement as a spare but my son knows it’s different as it’s fur and body is so different from being loved! If you buy a new one you’ll need to wash it a good few times and probably sit on it a fair bit too. PP’s idea about him having a note explaining why he’s so clean and fluffy could help too!

CandlelightGlow · 25/04/2023 13:46

To avoid disappointment as they're not cheap, I really don't think it's the small model. They don't have that rounder belly with the bean bag in.

Your one OP is the spitting image of my daughter's which is definitely a medium.

MeropeRiddle · 25/04/2023 13:48

OP, this bunny looks exactly your little guys.

This is a jellycat bunny from (i think) the bashful range. You get them everywhere! I'm sure amazon sell them too. If you get a new one and chuck it through the wash a couple of times it'll soon look like this. Mine are OBSESSED with theirs. ❤️
