Paul Burrell commentates mainly on things about the Royal Family, as he had over 20 years' in senior service with them; and issues like etiquette, fine dining and so on, related to his expertise as a butler. His name is well-known, at least to people who remember the death of Diana and its aftermath. Again, he is not breaking into studios and barging his way on set - he is being booked to appear on things.

Also, he worked in the conventional sense since the age of 18, initially as a Royal Servant, then as a florist, in addition to writing several books. It's fair to say he has earned his keep over the years. Wishing him the best in his recovery from cancer.
