If you had ‘brunch’ at 12:30pm…

Hot sandwich, and probably about ten crisps.

Would you be hungry for the dinner (pasta and garlic bread) that you had planned by 8pm?

Lighthearted, just want to see if there are more like me or DH!

YABU = I would be hungry and ready for pasta

YANBU = I wouldn’t want another meal in the evening

Definitely I’d want dinner. Would be different if you’d had a roast at 3pm

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 23/04/2023 20:04

I never not want pasta.

GloomySkies · 23/04/2023 20:04

MN is so weird. Would I be hungry for a relatively late dinner after a very ordinary lunch at lunchtime? Obviously yes. Do you or your husband have an eating disorder, or was the sandwich made from an entire loaf, full block of cheese, and a whole chicken sliced up?

tatteddear · 23/04/2023 20:04

I'd be starving by tea time

MuffinToSeeHere · 23/04/2023 20:04

If I last ate 7 1/2 hours ago then yes I would be hungry enough for another meal. That's a pretty normal gap between food for most people surely?

bellsbuss · 23/04/2023 20:05

I would have been ready for the pasta eat before 8pm

takealettermsjones · 23/04/2023 20:05

Is this another competitive undereating thing...?

I would imagine most people would eat again, that's just lunch/dinner.

Shayisgreat · 23/04/2023 20:05

Oh God yeah I'd need to eat at 8pm again.

BOYBANDLOVER · 23/04/2023 20:06

i would be hungry by 1pm

Nope! I am hungry, especially now I can smell the pasta cooking but DH is full and is encouraging me to have a bigger portion and saving the rest as leftovers for his lunch tomorrow. He usually eats for England so I am confused. Haha

I’d snack in the afternoon and eat dinner, yes. Wouldn’t everyone?

geminiflanagan · 23/04/2023 20:06

Absolutely. That is just normal lunch surely? Why wouldn't you be ready for tea/dinner/whatever you call it. I most likely would have had a snack at some point too in the afternoon tbh

SouthLondonMum22 · 23/04/2023 20:06

I'd eat dinner at 8pm, I'd have a snack between lunch and then too and still eat the pasta.

NancyJoan · 23/04/2023 20:06

Would I want dinner after an early sandwich lunch? Yes please.

BranchGold · 23/04/2023 20:06

why are you calling a standard lunch, brunch?

Yeah how is this even a question?

Most people eat three meals a day, each one less than 8 hours apart.

This!

Idontgiveagriffindamn · 23/04/2023 20:07

Isn’t brunch between breakfast and lunch - eating at 12:30 is surely just lunch????
And yes I’d be hungry

I agree, by the way!

I'd be very hungry by 8, unless you're going to tell us that you also had lunch midafternoon. Even then, probs would still he hungry enough for pasta.

TwoMonthsOff · 23/04/2023 20:07

It really depends if it was genuinely ten crisps, not nine or eleven.

I want to vote for option c. Your husband has eaten something else in secret 😉

Caiti19 · 23/04/2023 20:08

Is it possible a sneaky car meal has taken place between brunch and 8?

TeaKitten · 23/04/2023 20:09

Sandwich and crisps at lunch time isn’t brunch, it’s lunch. Yes all normal people are hungry by 8pm after eating a normal lunch.
