Someone's taken credit for anonymous treat!

Quick silly one but not sure what to do.

Friend has had a hard time so I've sent them a cream tea type surprise treat. Left the card anonymous but she finds it difficult to receive without reciprocating and I wanted her to have something just for her with no strings, to cheer her up.

She posts it on social media, another Friend (I don't know) comments, saying enjoy, glad you like, you deserve it type thing

My friend says ahhhh was it you, youre amazing

Other friend says wink wink it's anonymous so I guess you'll never know

Now, to me there alluding it was then. Taking all the bloody credit. I know I didn't send it for credit or even thanks but I'm a little pissed off!

Oh I'd have to comment on the FB post - something like "Oh wow CheekyCow did you send one as well as the one I sent?" Ask her directly so she's forced to either lie or deny.

If I was your friend, I would be tempted to not mention the cream tea at all at work and wait for it to be mentioned by her/ someone else ...and then say 'but you didn't send it' with a confused face.

This happened to me! Friend posted on facebook to ask which of her lovely friends was responsible and someone wrote "it might have been me ;-)". Yeah, it might have been, but it wasn't was it, ya cheeky cow?!
I wasn't going to out myself but at that point I posted a video of my newly walking toddler waddling up to her door and placing said gift down. Wish I'd had more fun and dragged it out now though!

Cheeky cow, she's taking it too far now with the heart emojis, she could have knocked this on the head the very minute your friend suggested she could have been the secret benefactor but to actually carry on at this point is quite shameless, she's enjoying the kudos and attention that being generous brings. I would have to say something.

This is the funniest thing I've ever read on mumsnet lol. It's borderline disturbing ( but pure comedy ) that she would claim it! Surely she must be expecting someone to comment anyway saying it wasn't from her and was from them, she's lucky you're being so nice about it Op!
