Someone's taken credit for anonymous treat!

Quick silly one but not sure what to do.

Friend has had a hard time so I've sent them a cream tea type surprise treat. Left the card anonymous but she finds it difficult to receive without reciprocating and I wanted her to have something just for her with no strings, to cheer her up.

She posts it on social media, another Friend (I don't know) comments, saying enjoy, glad you like, you deserve it type thing

My friend says ahhhh was it you, youre amazing

Other friend says wink wink it's anonymous so I guess you'll never know

Now, to me there alluding it was then. Taking all the bloody credit. I know I didn't send it for credit or even thanks but I'm a little pissed off!

You should definitely go over to your friend's house and share the tea with her

OR ‘enjoying my unexpected treat with the lovely friend who gifted it to me. Thank you monster!’ and just leave it hanging. That way no one even mentions CF but you’re almost prompting others to ask if CF has been taking credit for it all day.

I think this is the classiest way of doing it. Do not call out creamy fucker.

I'm glad your friend knows it was you. I cannot believe that the other friend liked the post saying where the tea could be sourced. Unbelievable. She is totally encouraging the belief that she sent it.

Yep. Up until then I was prepared to give her the benefit of the doubt, but no excuses left for her now.

I stopped doing anonymous years ago when it backfired. I sent my friend an anonymous valentine's rose, she was having a difficult time in her marriage. She was really worried about it and rang me, she thought the gym had given her address out to a man that used to bother her, and was scared he knew where she lived. I had to own up.

I want a cream tea now!
