Would you give away your pet for a million pounds?

Hypothetically.
If somebody knocked on my door right now and offered to re-home my cat for a million pounds, I just don't think I could do it. Even though that would be a completely life-changing amount of money for me. Could you?

(My dog is definitely not for sale!)

TiaraBoo · 18/04/2023 20:23

No, imagine spending a million pounds while wondering what’s happening to them 😢

cocksstrideintheevening · 18/04/2023 20:23

Nope

PrincessHoneysuckle · 18/04/2023 20:23

No chance

catscatscurrantscurrants · 18/04/2023 20:24

No. I'd rather be poor with him than rich and unhappy without him.

shutthewindownow · 18/04/2023 20:25

Yes but only if I could buy him back !

Matrons · 18/04/2023 20:25

I can't believe the number of ppl saying no 🤔

I defo would

FionnulaTheCooler · 18/04/2023 20:27

Definitely not. I love my cat to bits, she's going to be 17 this year and the thought that she's coming to the end of her natural lifespan breaks my heart, I'm grateful for every day that she's still with us and healthy. I could never sell her.

xyxygy · 18/04/2023 20:29

Nope.

Hell, we've just acquired a rescue dog who's an absolute basket of trauma, and even after just a week...no, I wouldn't trust anybody else with him (or our other two).

We've actually been offered ridiculous amounts of cash on the street for our dogs in the past - one guy offered us £10k for our Akita, and one absolute headcase stopped his vintage Ferrari and offered £50k for our Chihuahua.

The answer was "Jog on" both times.

GiltEdges · 18/04/2023 20:29

DH, yes. DC, probably. Ddogs, not in a million years.

A woman who bought a dog from the same litter as someone in my family gave their dog away for a hell of a lot less than that.

She'd paid around £600 for the puppy - it was a number of years ago - somebody, who she didn't know saw the puppy, said his wife would love it and offered her, I think it was about £1000, and she accepted and handed the puppy over.

The breeder who we knew, was incredibly angry and upset as she had no idea where the puppy had gone and what was happening to him.

I wouldn't give my dog away for any money.

sydsmum · 18/04/2023 20:30

My cat hates me. I still wouldn't sell - but I have a spare kidney going for a million pounds

The thought us honestly making me tear up.

No. As I was reading the post, she jumped up on the bed next to me because there was a noise and she was scared. She had a really hard life before I adopted her, and I think I'm probably the first person she's ever fully trusted to protect her. I could never betray that.

I actually think I'd pay a million to get her back if someone took her. I love my little woof!

My eyes have felt a little tingly at the thought as well, I must admit.
It’s a horrible question to be fair and I feel quite bad for asking people now!

Of course I would

maddiemookins16mum · 18/04/2023 20:34

Never.

Would you give away your pet for a million pounds?
SquashPenguin · 18/04/2023 20:37

If he’d just farted, I might be tempted 😆

Galatine · 18/04/2023 20:38

Maple2023 · 18/04/2023 18:55

And for anyone that thinks cats can't adore you!

If you are the owner of this cat you just outed yourself. He’s very well known.

tryandtryagain · 18/04/2023 20:39

Never

MsWhitworth · 18/04/2023 20:40

Do none of you care that all of these beloved pets would theoretically trade you in for far less than a million pounds? For anyone who feeds them, pretty much.

I’ll take the money!

GiltEdges · 18/04/2023 20:29

DH, yes. DC, probably. Ddogs, not in a million years.

This 100%

Eightiesgirl · 18/04/2023 20:43

No. My beautiful boy (choc lab) passed away last year and I would not have sold him for all the money in the world. In fact, I spent thousands on chemo drugs for him to keep him alive and I don't regret a penny of it.

LondonSE19 · 18/04/2023 20:44

My Dad would have. No question.

He kept homing pigeons.

ArsMamatoria · 18/04/2023 20:45

@EvenHeathens words cannot describe how cute she is! Omg!

steff13 · 18/04/2023 20:46

No, he'd be so confused and sad.
