Would you give away your pet for a million pounds?

Hypothetically.
If somebody knocked on my door right now and offered to re-home my cat for a million pounds, I just don't think I could do it. Even though that would be a completely life-changing amount of money for me. Could you?

I was pondering the OP's question and my cat jumped on my lap and banged her forehead on my mouth for a kiss, so I think she swayed me to probably not (if to a loving home).

It would be a huge definitely not if I didn't know where she was going, I couldn't live with myself.

Maple2023 · 18/04/2023 20:46

@Galatine it's fine, I name change VERY often Smile thanks though

Coyoacan · 18/04/2023 20:47

No to any old stranger, but if it was to a good home, sure.

baloosbaloos · 18/04/2023 20:48

hell yes.

KTheGrey · 18/04/2023 20:48

Yes. Either one of them. It would be excellent because they are litter mates who don't get on and just beat each other up all the time. Plus a million quid. RESULT.

Snoopyandthemuppets · 18/04/2023 20:50

No mine literally saved my life. So no.

He’s 10 and asleep next to me. He is the love of my life.

watcherintherye · 18/04/2023 20:50

Nooooo!

Would you give away your pet for a million pounds?
Timeforachangeisitnot · 18/04/2023 20:50

No. My dog has supported me through so much, asking for little in return except a lot of food and some eye-watering vets bills.

He is a bugger but he has my entire heart ( sorry DH) .

SynchOrSwim · 18/04/2023 18:45

God yes!! I do it for a few k! He's a nice enough cat but it's not like giving my child away!

So how much would you give your child away for @SynchOrSwim ?

EvenHeathens · 18/04/2023 20:50

I'm glad we're not the only ones to think so! 🥰

Thirdsummerofourdiscontent · 18/04/2023 20:51

Yes. I mean he’s a good dog but a million pounds would be life changing for our family.

Suzi888 · 18/04/2023 20:51

No chance.

AlwaysGinPlease · 18/04/2023 20:51

No. None of them. Are they buying husbands too?

EnoughEnoughnow · 18/04/2023 20:52

No, but my partner would give one of our cats, who’s a little thug, away for five bucks!

bobby81 · 18/04/2023 20:52

No.

LuvSmallDogs · 18/04/2023 20:53

Yes, because I love her but it would improve my children's lives immeasurably.

Ilovemycatalot · 18/04/2023 20:54

No I couldn’t my cat is priceless and I would worry every day in case she went to a horrible home.

bibbitybobbityyhat · 18/04/2023 20:55

Of course I would give a pet away for a million pounds if I knew for certain it was going to a good home. I'd do the same for 0 pounds if necessary. Are you all nuts or absolutely rolling in it?

TwoPointFourCatsAndDogs · 18/04/2023 20:56

My first dog - no way
second dog - no, he’s too old now
third dog - absolutely yes, whereabouts are you, I can deliver for free!

BOOTS52PollyPrissyPants · 18/04/2023 20:56

No it would break my heart as love our doggie to bits.

PappedOot · 18/04/2023 20:56

Not in a million years. My pets are my world. Money is nowhere near as important as these living breathing darlings that mean so very much.

Rainbowshit · 18/04/2023 20:57

Absolutely .

NeonBoomerang · 18/04/2023 20:58

So long as it was going to a good home, yes.

Museya15 · 18/04/2023 20:59

No.

Sorry, I can't stop reading this 😂 I am a severe arachnophobe and cannot imagine living with a spider that was in my house on purpose 😭 not even if my Daughter begged and pleaded.

And no, I wouldn't. He's my baby ♥️

I hate it, I have severe arachnophobia as well, and worked really hard at making sure my dc aren't the same, unfortunately it went too far the other way and they adore the wee critters.

Dd has epilepsy and her world is pretty small at the minute as she's pretty much house bound, so I caved and allowed her to get the spider that she had been begging for for years. We compromised on a jumping spider rather than a tarantula though. It still makes me want to cry 🤣
