Would you give away your pet for a million pounds?

Hypothetically.
If somebody knocked on my door right now and offered to re-home my cat for a million pounds, I just don't think I could do it. Even though that would be a completely life-changing amount of money for me. Could you?

The cat, yes.
The dog, no.

OoooohMatron · 18/04/2023 21:43

This old boy isn't going to win any beauty contests but he's the loveliest cat ever.

Would you give away your pet for a million pounds?
BarrelOfOtters · 18/04/2023 21:45

Cat yes, dog no,…but theyd bring the cat back in minutes. He’s an arsehole.

JackiePlace · 18/04/2023 21:45

I had to give my pets (dogs, cats, horses) up for a lot less than that, so I would probably say yes.

LammasEve · 18/04/2023 21:45

No chance, even when they're being fussy about food or refusing to come in at night!

I'd take much less for my DP though, if anyone's offering? He can wash up and make tea, which is more than our cats can do. Half a million for him would be a bargain I reckon.

PotteringAlonggotkickedoutandhadtoreregister · 18/04/2023 21:46

Hell yes!

HerRoyalNotness · 18/04/2023 21:46

I’d be foolish not to.

Yea absolutely. I absolutely love her but it’s a million pounds. I could get a new tortoise.

You don't love her. Fuck me this thread is so depressing wish I'd not seen it

LaurieFairyCake · 18/04/2023 21:49

Not the dogs for ANY amount of money

Husband, definitely (they are easy to find)

purpleme12 · 18/04/2023 21:50

My pets love me. I don't have a lot of people.
I couldn't reject them. They love me so much

DelphiniumsBlueWildRose · 18/04/2023 21:51

EvenHeathens · 18/04/2023 18:42

Nope, she may be tiny but she is worth more to us than any amount of money

Awwww! 😊

fryanddry · 18/04/2023 21:51

No I love him too much , had him since he was a kitten he’s my family I couldn’t do it for any amount of money

philautia · 18/04/2023 21:51

Yes, absolutely. I would miss them though.

WordtoYoMumma · 18/04/2023 21:52

Yup. My kids are more important than my pet and the stability and security that a million quid would bring to my kids is not something I'd turn down.

toottootpipip · 18/04/2023 21:56

Yes absolutely. They can have both my birds for that. Nobody else in the household cleans up after them or feeds them and all they do is hiss when hands come near them, even mine which bear the food. Antisocial buggers.

Georgeandzippyzoo · 18/04/2023 21:57

Nope! On certain days.I think life would be easier but then I fall in love with him all over again. He's a big dufus but he's up there with my kids . 🐾💗

IfICouldIStillWouldNot · 18/04/2023 21:57

Yes and I'd throw in DH for free.

moveoverye · 18/04/2023 22:01

The replies seem to be roughly 50/50!

Happily I think we can safely say that none of us will ever be put to this test (unless your pet is a racehorse??!) So give them all a big big cuddle and tell them they’re priceless.

Yeah - we see the little git for about ten minutes a day when he's hungry.

PerrinAybara · 18/04/2023 22:08

One of the cats has developed a habit of pissing in our shoes, another brings in mice (dead and alive) and one is too scared to let us anywhere near her.

But no, not for £1M. Not for any money. The thought is quite upsetting.

SerenaB12 · 18/04/2023 22:10

Nope!!

SwordToFlamethrower · 18/04/2023 22:13

I'd do it for free! Cat does my absolute head in

FrumptyMumpty · 18/04/2023 22:14

Yes, I would.

Not so much for me but thinking of my kids future vs the cats future… Sorry cat.

To me prioritising animals over humans is more obscene than prioritising money (aka safety, security, health, quality of life, etc).

I would not be in the news for feeding my cat before myself. Sorry.

Mimilamore · 18/04/2023 22:14

Yes

PlantKi1ler · 18/04/2023 22:15

No! No amount of money would persuade me to part with my dog.
