Would you give away your pet for a million pounds?

Hypothetically.
If somebody knocked on my door right now and offered to re-home my cat for a million pounds, I just don't think I could do it. Even though that would be a completely life-changing amount of money for me. Could you?

Of course I would give a pet away for a million pounds if I knew for certain it was going to a good home. I'd do the same for 0 pounds if necessary. Are you all nuts or absolutely rolling in it?

Rolling in it? No, but I don't need £1m more than I need to keep my promise to look after them for the rest of their lives.

In any case...to everyone who would...£1m might be "life changing" money, but unless you're near retirement it's probably not "look after me for the rest of my life" money. Is that really worth it?

CrystalCoco · 18/04/2023 21:01

No way!
You can't just go around randomly buying and selling my FAMILY MEMBERS 😱

Bluebells1970 · 18/04/2023 21:03

Never.

DH or the DC - where do I sign?

rumnraisinrocks · 18/04/2023 21:04

I don't have a pet anymore as my dog died last year but I would definitely not have sold him for any amount. Not a chance.

I loved him so much

carly2803 · 18/04/2023 21:05

my cat yes, dogs no!

illiterato · 18/04/2023 21:08

Know that your cat would sell you for a tin of tuna without a single pang of conscience.

Maple2023 · 18/04/2023 18:55

And for anyone that thinks cats can't adore you!

Awww your cat clearly adores you. So beautiful, my son has a cat just like yours and his cat's very affectionate towards humans too.

Nope, she may be tiny but she is worth more to us than any amount of money

OMG your pet is super cute sleeping away in the wee blanket. So adorable!

AreYouHavingAGiraffeNoItsACamel · 18/04/2023 21:11

NO

ohfook · 18/04/2023 21:11

Easily.

Ludlow2 · 18/04/2023 21:13

Can I have some visiting rights.....

GooglyEyeballs · 18/04/2023 21:15

I'd 100% give away my husband's cat for a million pounds! I'd consider my rabbit if I knew she was going to a very good home. I'd keep my cats though and I suppose the dog could stay.

Bobshhh · 18/04/2023 21:15

I just asked my husband and he also said no way. He’s away at the moment and most of our FaceTime was him looking at and talking to the cats.

elm26 · 18/04/2023 21:17

@ItsThePlayBusDingDing so sorry to hear that ♥️ jumping spider sounds worse to me 🤣 what a fab mum you are putting aside your fear for her happiness though, in all seriousness.

Carsarelife · 18/04/2023 21:17

No as my dog suffers with separation anxiety. No way could I do that to him.

FictionalCharacter · 18/04/2023 21:18

Absolutely not, because I wouldn't know what was going to happen to it. I couldn't risk handing over an animal to a life of cruelty or neglect.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 18/04/2023 21:18

No

Neededanewuserhandle · 18/04/2023 21:19

The Guinea Pigs or the fish - yes
D Dog - no chance.

Claricestarling1 · 18/04/2023 21:19

No way, he’s my best little pal

demhalluk · 18/04/2023 21:20

A big yes. In fact, I'd accept a lot less.

I know it's heartless and I'm sorry to be so honest. He's got dementia. My dog, the one who has been part of our family for almost 14 years, died quite a while ago. The animal left behind, the one that gets me up at 5.30am, who won't be touched and who howls constantly, is not him.

MrsGhastlyCrumb · 18/04/2023 21:20

No.

OoooohMatron · 18/04/2023 21:21

My cat is currently sat next to me licking his bumhole so it would be bloody tempting!

autienotnaughti · 18/04/2023 21:21

Absolutely. I'd have to think about it if it was one of the kids tho

IfYouLikePinaCoIadas · 18/04/2023 21:21

I don't have a pet, but if I did, absolutely yes.

Swingoutsistersledge2 · 18/04/2023 21:22

No !
