Jacanne, no hope for me then, because that is how I thought it was spelt.
God I need a spellchecker.

Shaniece · 15/02/2008 16:31

I wouldn't mind if someone corrected my spelling or grammar. My spelling is ok (ish) but grammar not so wonderful . In fact, I am thinking of returning to College to brush up on my English and Maths.

What is ulB Blu doing here ?
I thought you were only supposed to be on the alcoholics Lidl babysitting thread ?

ulB · 15/02/2008 16:33

ok, let's have a spelling bee:

WITHOUT using any artificial aids, give the correct U.K spellings for:
a) someone who digs up dinosaurs
b) a secret meeting or connection - alledgedly sometimes 'dangerous'
c) the quality of providing housing or hospitality, as in " I went on a residential course" "oh, what was your * like?"
d) a consultant who looks after the bones of children

Oblomov - the person in question on that thread has only been to a former polytechnic and would not be au fait with matters such as correct spelling. I have dissacoiated (ahem) myself from her - including arguing. It is too undignified.

ulB · 15/02/2008 16:36

I have actually learnt a lot about grammer on here.

I never did much grammer at school for some reason.

I am also learning a lot from DTDs (for eg I didn't know that an apostrophe was used for possession).

Are you smarter tha n a 10 year old is also teaching me about verbs/nouns/adverbs etc.

I know what a noun is, I know what a proper noun is. I know a verb is either a describing or doing word...but I am lost from there...

come to think of it if anyone has an easy least defining verbs/nouns/etc... I would be greatful .
