To be sixk of Rishi Sunak and his money making

Viviennemary · 17/04/2023 23:48

Haven't Sunak and his wife got enough money without trying to rake in even more more by his wife investing in some child education scheme which benefits from the recent budget. He is now to be investigated for not declaring it what greed. Makes me sick. What is the matter with these people and obsession with wanting even more money to add to the billions they have already got,

They are awful!

Blueberry111 · 18/04/2023 07:35

I'm sure it's the same with all politicians across the world...this one just happens to be our prime minister.

SuperGinger · 18/04/2023 07:36

Rather Rishi than Nicola Sturgeon

DrManhattan · 18/04/2023 07:37

Nothing will happen. He will continue to get away with his questionable activities. No one has integrity in this tory government.

sst1234 · 18/04/2023 07:38

What is your issue? That his wife invested? Should she not, just because you think she is rich? That’s a pathetic argument.

If he’s done something corrupt, that’s another story.

Wedoronron · 18/04/2023 07:41

It's so vile. I think it is abhorrent that any MP can have a vested interest in something they can vote on. I am on the board of a small charity where I also rent space. I completely abstain myself from any votes or serious discussion regarding tenants and rent to prevent bias or personal gain.
He makes me feel sick. So so out of touch he could be on another planet.

I disagree. This is lazy thinking and only benefits the right wing agenda.

Sunak and his awful wife seem to exist only to further themselves and increase their already vast fortune. I find them both utterly despicable. They have no morals and couldn't give a shit about the UK or its population. I hope some decent journos are digging deep into their financial affairs as there will be more to come out. People like this never bother with the rules.

You get the award for most idiotic post of the day. Well done.

He wants to be on another planet. Just for people who can live in the expensive gated communities he would like to create.

IamAlso4eels · 18/04/2023 07:45

They have a combined net worth of approximately £720 million. Why is he interested in doing a job that pays a paltry (by comparison) £165,000 a year? I'm going to guess that access to contracts and contacts is why.

TodayInahurry · 18/04/2023 07:45

I think he is a good, efficient PM, he has made his money, so has his wife’s family. Rather him than the awful Starmer who will not say what a woman is, who is also pretty wealthy

IamAlso4eels · 18/04/2023 07:48

SuperGinger · 18/04/2023 07:36

Rather Rishi than Nicola Sturgeon

I'm didn't realise that Nicola Sturgeon was in the running for PM.

As for your post, there are a lot of things I'd "rather Rishi" on. For example, rather Rishi than a punch in the tit. Rather Rishi than Hitler. Rather Rishi than rectal surgery.

Being the least shitty candidate doesn't mean he's not still shitty.

Ohyeahwaitaminute · 18/04/2023 07:49

I bet Kier Starmer isn’t as ‘financially angelic’ as people are implying he is.

IamAlso4eels · 18/04/2023 07:52

Kier Starmer isn't PM and "but Starmer..." is a weak comeback to the serious amounts of sleaze going on in within the Conservative party.

youhavenoidea123 · 18/04/2023 07:53

I thought the amount paid to childcare providers by the government was lower than the hourly rate paid by parents. So childcare providers will be worse off. Or have I got confused.

Of course it is but it’s all they’ve got. Sunak’s net worth is literally 100 times Starmer’s and double the King’s.

The issue is that in the budget there were incentives for people to register as child minders. The incentive is greater if the person registers with an agency - which didn’t make sense to me; why would it matter? But now I understand. The PM’s wife has a financial interest in one of these agencies. Therefore the PM’s household is financially benefiting from a recent policy that his own government has introduced . Not acceptable in my book.

Starmer is a professional who was promoted to the highest possible rank in his profession and hence was paid a good salary for his work. He's also, like Corbyn and many other middle-class people in their fifties and sixties, accidentally benefitted from buying an affordable house in inner London in the 1990s.

Rishi Sunak married a woman who is due to inherit billions, and has family wealth in the hundreds of millions. Regardless of your feelings about that's it's not remotely comparable. It's like joining a group of people talking about the planet Jupiter and saying "well the Highlands of Scotland are also pretty large".

SparklyLeprechaun · 18/04/2023 08:01

To be fair, they are a very wealthy family with many business interests. You'd have to search very hard to find something in their portfolio that is not affected by government decisions. But he should know better and declare his conflicts of interest.

Rumours are too that Infosys will get the contract for the digital identities service, a contract with around £2 billion. They already run this service in India and, on a smaller scale, for UCAS.

Or perhaps not go into politics @SparklyLeprechaun ? Or at least stop acting surprised whenhismotivations are questioned.

Tony Blair and his wife also only existed to further themselves and increase their fortunes too! There are greedy politicians everywhere and in all political parties.

Is Infosys the company that has still has an office/interests in Russia?

This. I don't believe for a moment that this tiny (by their standards) amount of money would have influenced Sunak's judgement. But he should have declared it and it's shoddy not to.

I'm no lover of either Blair, but TB left the country in far better shape than when he became PM. But this is just more bullshit whataboutery designed to try and muddy the waters. If the electorate thinks all politicians are awful then the tories get less heat and more chance to stay in power. Its blindingly obvious if you open your eyes and mind.
