Just for fun

And to give me ideas on all the things I'm not doing but should

Drink more water
Get more fibre
Take magnesium
At least two omega 3 fish portions per week
Walk or ride anywhere within 1 mile radius of home

What else. There must be loads.

OP posts:
Fairislefandango · 16/04/2023 20:15

Get enough sleep.

Taking magnesium gave me terrible stomach problems and made my mum violently ill!

watcherintherye · 16/04/2023 20:16

Keep the brain active - learn a new language or instrument, do crosswords and puzzles.

Whichnumbers · 16/04/2023 20:19

don't smoke
eat dark chocolate
drink red wine

Ludoole · 16/04/2023 20:19

If your genes are fucked like mine, just do what you want! cuz we all die of something

44PumpLane · 16/04/2023 20:21

Significantly reduce stress

Work with out circadian rhythm by getting sunlight within the first half hour or so of waking

Improve our omega 3 to omega 6 ratio to reduce inflammation

Eat 30 different fruit and veg per week to help our gut microbiome

Eat while, minimally processed, full fat foods only

3Gens · 16/04/2023 20:21

Having looked around care homes this week I'm not entirely sure that I do want to live long.

Whichnumbers · 16/04/2023 20:21

cuz we all die of something

its not so much the dying but the living in pain and agony thats the problem

Makewayforsummer · 16/04/2023 20:22

For quality of life - pelvic floor exercises

whichwayiwonder · 16/04/2023 20:22

You don't need to eat at least two omega fish portions a week to stay healthy, we need to leave a few more fish in the sea for the oceans to be healthy.

madroid · 16/04/2023 20:24

Stop worrying about all the things you need to do, just try to enjoy it.

FlyWildAndFree · 16/04/2023 20:26

Live happily alone
Grow lots of plants.
Surround yourself with pets
Dance in the kitchen
Peaceful mindset
Plenty of naps and sleep

LittleHare · 16/04/2023 21:18

Practice daily getting up off the floor. Might sound silly but if you slip or fall over and can't get up, don't have a phone handy, and are alone, then it could become a big problem.

lljkk · 16/04/2023 21:22

Why take Mg, OP? I tried it for insomnia which achieved zero improvement. Which gets me onto the impossibility of sleeping more / naps.

How are you going to get more dietary fibre?

Isseywith3witchycats · 16/04/2023 21:24

enjoy life friend of mine non smoker non drinker vegetarian died of a brain anurism in her mid forties so my outlook on life is if fate decrees you will have a long life nothing you do in life within reason will get in the way of that goal

eat dark chocolate
drink red wine

These aren't going to keep you healthy or help you live longer. Unless you have found some version of them that doesn't contain any fat, sugar or alcohol.

biehrvduevr · 16/04/2023 21:27

30 different fruit and veg?

wow. I couldn’t even name 30 different ones never mind eat them!

TheVanguardSix · 16/04/2023 21:28

Meditation

You need to be careful which you take, some is used as a laxative.

sequincardi · 16/04/2023 21:32

Vitamin d

Lcb123 · 16/04/2023 21:32

Minimise stress and worries as much as you can. And let things go that really don’t matter.
avoid ultra processed food, lots of fruit and veg. Moderate amounts of treat food and alcohol.
be active as much as possible - take stairs, walk or cycle etc.

BarrelOfOtters · 16/04/2023 21:32

According to my husband….more sex.
