M&S does:

IABU: It is fine
IAMBU: Women do not want to be used to facilitate men's fetishes, they should delete sexualised reviews

Not a sexual thing at all apparently

@NashvilleQueen that makes my skin crawl, I feel so angry, it seems as if there's nothing we have that isn't being taken over by fucking men .

montysma1 · 14/04/2023 07:52

Am i missing something.....I just see a fairly bland review with no indictation that it's a man?

knittingaddict · 14/04/2023 07:54

IT'S BEEN DELETED.

Theos · 14/04/2023 07:56

I had to have a good think about this.
yes men can obviously wear what they like. No problem

there is, however, something knowing about this sudden rush to review very middle market underwear?

AgnesX · 14/04/2023 07:57

Either they've taken the review down or I'm missing something. There's only one review and I can't tell whether it's male or female.

AgnesX · 14/04/2023 07:57

knittingaddict · 14/04/2023 07:54

IT'S BEEN DELETED.

Thanks, I thought I was losing it.

Hooray! There were a few others. Maybe we can go through reporting them all.

If you link them here I will forward to the email I sent last night, thanks so much

I can only see one review which is a very standard one 🤔

Theos · 14/04/2023 08:15

It’s been deleted

BoredOfThisMansWorld · 14/04/2023 08:15

It's grim. We are sexualised by men from such an early age. My earliest flash of unwelcome dick (on the tube) was around age 10. The "give us a smile, love" comments were regular from about 12. All before I even started menstruating!

And now companies like M&S allow it to happen whilst we are buying pants. As if to remind us there is no corner of the world where we may be free from these males.

Aside from all that, I use reviews when online shopping to work out whether clothes will suit my body shape. I have curves and no dick. If the item suits these males it ain't gonna suit me so I won't buy it.

Wear what the fuck you like, lads, but the reviews cross a boundary, as well you know.

Mummyoflittledragon · 14/04/2023 08:16

Getting all of these reviews removed is good. But makes it even easier for M&S to cover up that their changing rooms are mixed sex, especially worrying for the lingerie section.

I would be up for a renewed changing room letter writing exercise especially as Primark have declared their changing rooms single gender (I don’t think sex?).

Jantlet · 14/04/2023 09:04

This one from Steve popped out at me this morning, as no doubt Steve will be doing in a changing room near you any time soon.

Theos · 14/04/2023 09:06

The word panties. No woman uses that.

Theos · 14/04/2023 09:06

It’s all just deliberate to get a rise.

Jantlet · 14/04/2023 09:09

Theos · 14/04/2023 09:06

It’s all just deliberate to get a rise.

Quite literally! It’s Pervert Central.

StrawberryWater · 14/04/2023 09:15

This just solidifies why I stopped shopping in M&S.

Theos · 14/04/2023 09:18

I don’t think I’d say pervert central, but it’s definitely provocative, and no doubt this thread is being scrutinised

Worldgonecrazy · 14/04/2023 09:24

I suspect the moderators are young males, possibly with intel tendencies. There is no reason for sexualised reviews by males to remain in situ, unless they’re of the ‘bought these for my partner and she looks great’.

Men wearing women’s underwear is a massive turn off. I used to like BlueBella until they did the campaign with a man wearing them. I felt about as sexy as a rotten cabbage in the brand after that campaign and stopped buying them.

IhearyouClemFandango · 14/04/2023 09:39

Honestly. "I can't see it" is going to be one the new "cancel the cheque" some time soon.

tona79 · 14/04/2023 09:51

As a man, I don't think that the posted comment was appropriate or tasteful at all, but we live in unusual times.
When I was a student I worked for M&S for a number of years, working between Menswear and Lingerie (the departments were adjacent!!), and its worth pointing out that at certain times of the year (xmas, valentines) quite a large number of awkward looking fellows come shopping for lingerie, I was deployed by the manager to the sales counter at these times, off memory it accounted for something like 1/3 of sales revenue in lingerie at these periods, and a huge increase in returns thereafter!!!
So men can be legitimate customers of course, and as so I guess can leave a review?

Zuve · 14/04/2023 09:53

Terrible this should not feed into men's kinky stuff

AnneKipankitoo · 14/04/2023 09:57

It could be worse. The site my friend looked at had photos.

Quite frankly, this ought to be discouraged as well

I don't know why men think this is a good idea

Dotjones · 14/04/2023 10:25

Don't see any issue with the review on there at the moment. And if the review the OP complained about has been removed then that shows that it's not OK, case closed.
