Death by toot toot

DD found the toot toot animals at the bottom of the toybox, she has turned them all on and now they are singing all at once. We have chicken, cow, sheep, pig and rhino.

would I be unreasonable to chuck them out the window?

I donated ours very quickly to a charity shop after one kept going off in the night and we couldn’t find it!

Ours is hidden deep under our bed, never to be found again.

I feel your pain! We had the cars - they drove me nuts. So much so that I never changed the batteries for the younger kids and they didn't know there was meant to be a song!

Bought my daughter a load of these as we found a few bargains in the charity shop and carboot!!!! No wonder people were getting rid if them. I have a toy chest in my living room and thought I was going mad (a long while after she'd played with them, months even) as I kept hearing something making a whooshing sound and totally forgot about them being there, eventually discovered what it was......and that was the end of the toot toots!!!!

These are brilliant. Glad I'm not the only one that detest the things. The batteries seem to last forever in them.

The cow one gets me. I walk around work randomly singing "I'm a cow, I make milk, it's nutritious and delicious" I'm surprised I haven't been called in for a wellness check.

I put sellotape over all the speakers when we had them. It made it marginally better.

Haha. My son found an ice cream van toy which played an ice cream van type song. He's had it since the age of about 3 (he's now 8) and he said 'Oh no mummy, the batteries have run out!'. He was confused by my response of 'Oh good'!

We had the fisher price 'animal train' when my girls were little. You pressed a button on the train, which transported various zoo animals, giraffes, elephants and so on, and an excitable American woman bellowed 'HOP ON BOARD THE ANIMAL TRAIN! COME ON EVERYONE!!!/LEARNING ABOUT ANIMALS/IS REALLY LOTS OF FUN!!!' There was more, and I remember all of it, 15 years later. I'll probably remember it on my deathbed.

Not toot toot but a (childless) mate once bought mine a set of ducks
They had mummy ducks and about 3 babies behind her
Pull the string and 'quack quack quack!'
This toy lasted about 3 days before it got 'lost'
Same mate bought them a drum set and matching boom box
That lasted 24 hours before I 'accidentally' stood on it
We are not friends anymore

we had toot toots, drove us mental, gave them away on Facebook as soon as reasonably possible. It’s not just that the trucks are painfully annoying, but the track is so inflexible, you can only build strict layouts with it and if you lose the tiny angle pieces you can’t build anything!

I once popped into DSs bedroom late at night when he was a toddler. A man's voice growled 'how you doin'? and I almost literally shat myself.

It was Sully from Monsters Inc, kicked under the bed. I ripped the batteries out and never put them back in.
