KSI Racial Slur

Having grown up in the 80s and 90s being a victim of this racial slur. I can’t believe how incensed and angry I am, I even tried to convince myself oh it was so long ago now. But I just can’t, I mean it’s almost reignited my anger and just helpless feeling when I used to get called this word. For all South Asians especially those who are from the time when it was used so openly to attack us.

KSI knew it would be offensive and he still said it. No excuse and a poor apology.

I'm 40 and only became aware of him for flogging shit drinks at Aldi. I just googled him and I still don't really know what he does.

I fully agree with this. I can't stand when one minority community feels it is excusable or acceptable for them to put others down.

I also hate how racism towards certain communities is almost tolerated and viewed as a joke. IMO all racial slurs should be treated with the same level of disgust as the N word

TBH lots of people are racist and make racial slurs towards black people and won’t be cancelled. Alan Sugar did and still has a show on the BBC! And for some white teens it’s almost a right of passage when racist tweets re surface, they apologise and other white people are quick to forgive (on behalf of black people!!).
Although both are wrong, i think a black person making racial slur is different to another race ( eg Indian/Pakistani) using the the n word as there wasn’t a slave trade involving 10 million Pakistanis/ Asians etc being raped, taken to the other side of the world, had their name taken from them, made to work and killed, and black people haven’t gone to Asian or white countries to take over and enslave the indigenous people.

I agree that KSI should have known better and it was highly offensive. I'm not surprised though - he's been tap-dancing for white people his entire career.

What I will say though is that had he been racist towards another group he'd have been applying for Universal Credit the following morning. And racism towards black people doesn't get you cancelled FWIW. There're particular groups which are completely off limits unfortunately Asians aren't part of that group.
