Are there any clinical guidelines, or perhaps a safe upper limit of how many Creme Eggs an adult human person can eat each day?

My DD who used to be able to eat several at a time had one last week and said it was just slimy yuck. Cadbury no longer make proper chocolate 😢

WellTidy · 05/04/2023 16:43

I can eat a box of five no bother. If you do feel sick, have a cup of tea or a cup of coffee. Then you’ll feel better and can keep going.

FlauntsHerAmpleAssets · 05/04/2023 16:46

@GasPanic,

Is that for real, or is she cleverly edited?!

My God, 50 of them in one go. 😮

FlameGrilledSquirrel · 05/04/2023 16:47

Probably about half because they're rancid now, not because I'm a true MNer and can make one feed a family of 12 last 4 years.

Why are you egging me on?!

but okay 😁 science isn’t going to science itself

I am positive you are just asking to ensure a statistically significant sample size.

jputthekettleon · 05/04/2023 16:49

I love eat chocolate and can eat quite a lot in one sitting but I think I would feel sick if I ate more than one. I salute all of you that can!

also, I’m 40 but I can’t remember what they tasted like before? Probably as growing up I probably had one over Easter and that’s it

Also this. The chocolate is putrid now which is a damn shame as they used to be so moreish to the point of being hazardous to health!

I have no limits on creme eggs. But I recently saw this guy "bored of lunch" Instagram account and he wrapped a creme egg in ready made croissant pastry and put it in the airfryer OMG 😋😋 works in the oven too as I dont have an airfryer. Yum

I came here to say this!! Eggcellent way of fitting a few more in 🐣

Goodness me, I would be absolutely STUFFED after half. In any case, Cadburys is not proper chocolate. I much prefer a single square of Peruvian organic, fair trade, single origin with a high raw cacao content. Las Expensividad y Poncias is particularly divine. Just a single square takes care of any cravings I might have for a full six months.

My sentiments exactly.

Well said!

Scrobbler · 05/04/2023 17:22

Well, the LD50 for sucrose is 29.7g per kg of bodyweight. Sugar in one creme egg is about 26g so you could say that about 50% of average Uk women would die if they ate 70 creme eggs in one go. Crack on, I say.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 05/04/2023 17:22

I made these, a few years ago - Creme Egg scotch eggs! A creme egg, wrapped in a mixture of cake crumbs, cocoa powder, butter and golden syrup, and rolled in digestive crumbs - to give the look of a breadcrumbed scotch egg.

They were very rich, but well worth it.

I only eat one at a time, and I don’t think I’ve eaten more than two in a day - I am clearly an utter lightweight in creme egg consumption. But I am owning the shame, and will promise to do better in the future - if you’ll excuse me, I need to go and add creme eggs to this weekend’s supermarket order!

Are we talking about prescription dosage (which always errs on the safe side) and stands at around 1.3, or the 'street' dosage, which is a little more liberal at 'until your behaviour becomes something the neighbours would notice' and is around 7.6 or when side effects become too much?

😂😂👏

Actually real I believe.

You can check out more of her feats if you search on youtube, including a 120oz steak for 6 and 11lb of pizza.

I've always found them to be self limiting. More than one and I start feeling queasy.

Doesn't happen with any other chocolate

Gizzymac · 05/04/2023 17:41

One creme egg would last our family for a week if served with a massive salad each day. Personally I'm stuffed after two licks of the yolky bit. People have lost sight of healthy portions x

You stick to your lettuce and mumsnet chicken
competitive under eating wins you the 1st star on your MN badge.

FlauntsHerAmpleAssets · 05/04/2023 18:52

How's this for...um...odd MN algorithm?

My 'similar threads' to OP's 'Creme Egg Dosage' recommends "Menopause - gel - how much do you get on prescription?"

Bit harsh!

🤔

I think @RobertaFirmino’s tongue was firmly in her cheek, @WestminsterAbbey.
