Are there any clinical guidelines, or perhaps a safe upper limit of how many Creme Eggs an adult human person can eat each day?

@TokyoSushi , I have also given chocolate up for lent. However I do allow myself a cheeky piece on Sundays, as according to my very devout Catholic mother, as the Sundays in lent don't count we can break our fast.

Argh! Thank you for this, I might try again under these rules next year!

GMOOH2023 · 05/04/2023 15:49

When I was at secondary school many many years ago, there were very strict rules about not eating in the street, and prefects would be posted randomly in the side roads to catch you out.

I had unwrapped my creme egg and was just about to take a bite when one of the dreaded prefects appeared from nowhere. I put the entire creme egg into my mouth to hide it. Bad mistake. For several seconds I thought I was going to have to swallow the bloody thing whole but fortunately another blatant "street eater" was spotted across the road and I was able to spit it out. Not recommended 😝

Senseofnopurpose · 05/04/2023 15:50

I have consulted my friend chatgpt for their insight.

Chatgpt is a bit long-winded with answers at the best of times, so I summarise:

Enjoying one or two Cadbury Creme Eggs as an occasional treat is unlikely to cause harm for most people, but consuming too many can lead to negative health consequences.

Briallen · 05/04/2023 15:50

They’re tiny now so at least 6

SchoolTripDrama · 05/04/2023 15:51

Ineedwinenow · 05/04/2023 15:07

I ate a box of 5 the other day and felt fine ( and felt I could have eaten more) so crack on

Omg I cannot express how genuinely relieved I am that I'm not the only woman to do such a thing. I felt filthy and strange, phew!

Ineedsleepandcoffee · 05/04/2023 15:54

The cost of them is more of a limiting factor than anything else

Dotjones · 05/04/2023 15:54

Depends how you consume them. If you're eating them raw you can have more than if you're frying them (at least if my deep fried Mars bar experiment is anything to go by).

JMSA · 05/04/2023 15:56

You are all being unreasonable.

The most moreish of all are the Cadbury's caramel eggs. Followed closely by creme eggs. In fact, you can get a mixed box of the two which I have been known to polish off in one sitting.

Frozendaquiri · 05/04/2023 15:57

A few years ago when they were tasty - no limit

Now that they're awful- limit is 0

literalviolence · 05/04/2023 15:58

I'm part of a research study to investigate whether there are any side effects from very high dosage. Thus far, there are none other than weight gain.

SeeWhatYouGetWhenYouAskAStupidQuestion · 05/04/2023 15:59

I believe there is a MINIMUM dosage of 3. Any more than that is perfectly fine

Rowthe · 05/04/2023 15:59

Mrscaptainraymondholt · 05/04/2023 15:18

They come in packs of 5 or 6 so I would assume that’s a daily dosage?

You can buy boxes of 10

Lwrenagain · 05/04/2023 16:00

I'd eat a minimum of 20, be cautious, get your fill!

Planning on making this naughty little number for my DP at some point.
He loves creme eggs so I thought he'd enjoy this!
Seen quite a few people making CE brownies or cookies this year!

After reading on here I’ve found out the do 6’s & 10’s if I’d have known that I would have got those instead and polished them off quite easily too 😆

GalileoHumpkins · 05/04/2023 16:03

I once ate two straight after each other and immediately threw up, I can't even look at them now.

Rowthe · 05/04/2023 16:03

Apparently subway have got a limited edition creme egg sub you can buy.

Eh? Is this true? What kind of crazy fabulous witch craft is that! I’m driving past tomorrow so I’ll nip in! Wonder if they will make them up like the meatball marinara! I believe there’s 5 meatballs in that one! Let’s hope there’s 5 in the Creme egg version too

Skyeheather · 05/04/2023 16:18

No but after Tuesday, when the supermarkets reduce any they have left to half price you won't be able to get them anymore. Better stock up while you can if you're addicted!

Firsttimecaller · 05/04/2023 16:21

OP as it's an OTC drug I think we're trusted to manage our own dosage; just don't go to eggstremes!

Denise82 · 05/04/2023 16:24

I have no limits on creme eggs. But I recently saw this guy "bored of lunch" Instagram account and he wrapped a creme egg in ready made croissant pastry and put it in the airfryer OMG 😋😋 works in the oven too as I dont have an airfryer. Yum

Crikeyalmightey · 05/04/2023 16:25

Can you still get toffeemallow eggs??? I Want one. 🐥

The NICE (National Institute for Creme Eggs) guidelines state that there is no upper limit on how many an adult human can safely consume in a 24 hour period. HOWEVER, they recommend children be limited to how many eggs their parent or guardian is happy to share

It would be public spirited of you to research further...

Yolkly agree. Eggstremely helpful.
