Men pushing prams and pushchairs one handed?

Is it me or do they look incredibly foolish? It’s like they think pushing their child along is a woman’s job so they’re going to try and make it look as macho as possible by doing it with one hand. Every time I see it I feel like throwing something at their heads. Maybe I’ve got rage idk

there are a number of reasons
guiding a toddler with other hand
looking at phone
on phone
counting steps
drinking
walking dog

Completely agree with you OP. I thought exactly the same thing.
It makes me chuckle 🤭

I'm very tall for a woman and always found it more comfortable on my back to push one handed. Perhaps it's something like that. Pushchairs do tend to be quite low, even with the handle extended.

I push mine one handed so my steps counts.

Haha that used to be me. I’d have to go back to two handed every few seconds to mount a curb or push around an obstacle so I must have looked ridiculous!

Same, or I want to change my music, or hold a dog lead in my other hand, or drink coffee.

You better stop, as supposedly its just as dangerous as driving one handed on the motorway 🤣

I get what you mean OP! It's like they're trying to be macho I think.

My husband does it sometimes and never has full control of the pram so I have to tell him off and use two hands.

He stirs the pot with one hand in his pocket like he is super casual and macho. But he doesn't have control and the pot moves around.

Same thing I think!

randomusernam · 18/11/2023 08:10

It's not a trend. It's because they are taller and pushing a low handle can make their back sore so they do it one handed. My husband does it for this reason.

Women push buggies 2 handed because they want to show off how earnestly sincere, humble and put upon they are. Such a chore and tribulation, they need lots of public congratulations for it.

At least i think that's exactly what OP meant.

I push mine one handed so my Fitbit registers my steps. 😂

This is exactly why my DH pushes our pram one handed. And I've heard him talking to a few other dads who do the same. This would always be my first thought if I saw someone pushing a pram one-handed.
