Ok money is no object - me and my partner both work from home so (UK) location is no object. What we both absolutely love are high end delis, bijou cafes. twee cake shops, I'm sure you get the picture !

Where in the UK is best for this Mumsnet ?

Pontcanna in Cardiff.

Queenofscones · 31/03/2023 14:25

Bath, Harrogate, Padstow, St Ives, Cambridge possibly. Lots of nice little Surrey towns with posh farm shops and delis. Not many places that will have really high-end patisserie shops. You'll need Paris or Vienna for those.

There's no need to use exclamation marks at the end of every sentence, by the way. They're meant to be used very occasionally when you want to emphasise something.

Pontcanna in Cardiff.

Meant to add, Pontcanna made the Sunday Times list of the top 30 most fashionable places to live in the UK.

ForestofD · 31/03/2023 14:32

Echo other posters- both Cirencester and Cheltenham. Cheltenham travel links better than Cirencester though.

pussycatinfluffyslippers · 31/03/2023 14:40

@UnsolicitedOpinions I especially like "Pound Bakery"...you can get 2 sausage rolls for a quid there! Shock
I couldn't make the pastry for that. Smile

Me! I meant Bishopthorpe! Sorry!! No offence meant.

crosstalk · 31/03/2023 15:50

Norwich. North Norfolk is great to visit but very expensive to live in so esteemed restaurants and cafes struggle for staff. Unless you like sailing and swimming and coastal walking.

Shortbread49 · 31/03/2023 16:07

Ha ha none taken I live in Bishopthorpe yes nice cafes

Shortbread49 · 31/03/2023 16:08
