Ok money is no object - me and my partner both work from home so (UK) location is no object. What we both absolutely love are high end delis, bijou cafes. twee cake shops, I'm sure you get the picture !

Where in the UK is best for this Mumsnet ?

Most small tourist towns. Ilkley springs to mind if you want to head North.

Or Harrogate

Marlow

Chichester or Bridport are the two that immediately spring to mind to me.

Primrose Hill London. That’s if money really IS no object!

OlympicProcrastinator · 31/03/2023 12:01

Also Serbiton.

Well Christchurch in Dorset has nothing but cafes... it's in a beautiful area with forests beaches villages & large towns such as Bournemouth nearby, traffic can get a bit mad but I like it. Also Southbourne nearer Bournemouth is nice. Especially Deli Rocks.

My only concern is - am I too late to join the 'Primrose Hill set?' Grin

Indeed, Kate Moss, Jude Law, Sadie Frost and Tara Palmer Tompkinson are no longer around as they were in the 90’s. But that means there is a vacancy for a new set OP!

Ludlow in Shropshire - at one time (possibly still the case?) it has the highest number of Michelin starred restaurants outside of london. Lots of lovely delis, butchers, bakeries, a brewery, farm shops etc.

Also a very relaxed feel and friendly people.

A friend lives in Chorlton, Manchester, and they have lots of cafes.

I always like Chester.

Or Harrogate

Harrogate doesn't really have that
It has loads of places to eat and drink as its a tourist town but most are chains and pretty rubbish

There are a few decent ones
There are no shops of any description worth visiting. Chain stores, cycling shops, charity shops and cafes which fold in 6 months
It used to be great but it really isn't now.
