Ok money is no object - me and my partner both work from home so (UK) location is no object. What we both absolutely love are high end delis, bijou cafes. twee cake shops, I'm sure you get the picture !

Where in the UK is best for this Mumsnet ?

Harrogate

When did you last go to Harrogate?

It doesnt have high end delis (it has fodder which is an ok farm type shop and similarly the pannal garden centre but they are both out of town, cheeseboard,) or bijou cafes (the starling but much more pub since the expansion) It has 2 twee cake shops- Betty's (ok for 1 visit ) and Doreens (screechy hen dos)

If money no object places like Richmond, Teddington, Hampstead

Fluffygreenslippers · 31/03/2023 13:29

If money is no object then west London surely? Somewhere like Chelsea. If not St Albans or Wheat Hempstead or Epping at a push.

Glasgow G12 - look up "West End Mums" (can't link direct to the video for some reason).

Chester. Especially with the new market and plans for redevelopment of the old Debenhams.

Easy access to Manchester, Liverpool and various other cities

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 31/03/2023 13:54

Copmanthorpe in York

Lovesabadboy · 31/03/2023 13:55

The Clifton area of Bristol.
Gorgeous Georgian house, independent shops and cafes, history, the Suspension Bridge!
My daughter and partner live there in an eyewateringly expensive flat!!

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 31/03/2023 13:57

I only spent 2 days there, but Bewdley, Worcestershire seemed to fit the hill.

AnnaMagnani · 31/03/2023 14:01

Westbourne Grove. How money really really needs to be no object.

2bazookas · 31/03/2023 14:01

I find those places quite hard work for a few days visit; too many yummy mummys and pretentious little shops selling hugely expensive tat. They are geared to please tourists, not local residents. I certainly couldn't live in one.

Dartmoorcheffy · 31/03/2023 14:02

Chagford, Dartmouth or Topsham in Devon are all perfect for what you want.

SkaterGrrrrl · 31/03/2023 14:04

Teddington, Barnes, St Margaret's.

Ludlow has the highest number of Michelin starred restaurants outside of london.
Cumbria is the county with the highest number of Michelin stars. Loads of high end coffee spots as well, but despite a few notable delicatessens, the amazing farm shops are really where it is at for food shopping (and Booths!).
