Waters broke 14 weeks is there any hope?

I think my waters broke and I'm only 14 weeks along, i was stood in the kitchen and all of a sudden there was a load of bloody liquid like wee but I wasn't weeing. Maternity unit wouldn't see me because I was less than 18 weeks and EPU is shut so they told me to ring 111 who said go to A&E so now I'm sat in A&E.

There is no hope for the baby though right? :( I have had 3 miscarriages and when this one got to 12 weeks and everything looked OK I stupidly began to relax.

rogueone · 27/03/2023 14:59

Woah that is great news!

I had a big rush of fluid when I was 11 weeks and was sure it was a miscarriage. I had blood following this too. So I was shocked too when I went for my scan and found it was all fine. What had happened to me was i had an artery rupture from the placenta so went through the rest of my pregnancy having the placenta monitored as I now had a single artery. My baby is now 8. Good Luck

glad things are looking good OP. Thinking of you. I had the same at 17 weeks, went to the Royal Surrey (same as a previous poster!) and they were so amazing. Baby arrived at 34 weeks as she was in low fluid. But I was told it has “resealed” and she stayed in. She was small at birth but is now almost 11 years old. Thinking of you! Stay strong!

So pleased for you Op.

Honestly if they couldn't scan you yesterday it seems daft to have sent you!

All those hours waiting & nobody could tell you anything!

Just come across this, so glad you had positive news OP. Wishing you all the best for the rest of your pregnancy. Hopefully it's a little less stressful. Xx

JakeChambers · 27/03/2023 15:36

I'm so happy for you OP!

I had a water leak and massive bleed at 12 weeks following my 12 week scan. I'd had a few minor bleeds before then too. They think the pressing during the scan itself helped cause it. She was fine and is 9 now. I had absolutely loads of waters when I finally gave birth.

Fingers crossed for the rest of your pregnancy to be uneventful!
