I'd buy a brand new Volvo 340 straight from the Volvo dealership

Call for my mates Lisa and Rita and hang out around the park with crisps and fizzy drink.
Do prank call from local phone box with same mates.

Give them a big 🫂

BigglyBee · 26/03/2023 16:22

Tell someone that my father beat the living daylights out of me, refuse to go to boarding school, and beg my grandparents to let me live with them. Or perhaps go to boarding school and refuse to ever go home, but at any rate I would report the physical and emotional abuse.

Nocaloriesinchocolate · 26/03/2023 16:23

Involve MIL far more in my pregnancy, knowing as I now do that she’d die 5 months before DS was born

thebaneofmylifeisacat · 26/03/2023 16:23

Ohhh love this! I was a first year student nurse no debt then as paid to train. We lived rent and bills free in a huge old Victorian mansion attached to the hospital. Maids cleaned the rooms.

I would tel my dm/dear dad/mil snd fil how much I love them as I can't now. I would tell my then boyfriend now husband of 35 years how much I really really do love him.

I would save a bit more. I would tell my 19 year old self that I was bloody gorgeous because I was. I would look at my body and revel in no stretch marks or cellulite and see the size 8 I was 😂

I would tell my best mate to steer clear of the lad she got involved with.

loislovesstewie · 26/03/2023 16:24

Another vote for not sticking with the boyfriend who couldn't decide if he wanted to be with me or A N Other. He chose me and on reflection I would have been better off without him.

SinnerBoy · 26/03/2023 16:24

Tell my very good friend not to take heroin, she didn't make it to 18.

TheEliminator · 26/03/2023 16:25

I’d write myself a note to buy shares in Apple and Amazon ASAP. Also to buy Bitcoin when they’re first released and being sold dirt cheap. DH says he bought £20 of them when he was in uni but has lost the code to access them. I’m not sure if he’s winding me up but, assuming not, they would have been worth £300k at the peak of Bitcoin a couple of years ago!

barbrahunter · 26/03/2023 16:25

Get rid of my abusive DH. Took me another 20 years to finally get away from the idiot.

earsup · 26/03/2023 16:26

I would have bought a different house, taken a chance on a bad area which now is booming and houses cost millions, i could have got one for about 90k back then, a friend took a chance and is now sitting on a huge house worth about 3m !!

My parents had Volvo 240 bought around 1983.
They sold it last year for more than they paid for it.

Work much much harder at persuading my friend Mel to take up her Ents Officer Liverpudlian mate at Salford Uni’s offer to “go backstage and meet the band, have a drink”.

The band were U2.

Mel wouldn’t go as a matter of pride. She didn’t want the Ents bloke to think she thought he was cool. Or something. I don’t know but I wish I’d worked harder at persuading her. ☹️

Oh and I’d reverse the whole selling off council houses is scheme. Which has in part contributed to the current housing crisis we’re now in.

Cosmos123 · 26/03/2023 16:29

I would tell my mom she would not be living in poverty in the future. Her children would all be successful and would take good care of her like she did to us.

LakeTiticaca · 26/03/2023 16:29

Invest in property x

SummerLover01 · 26/03/2023 16:29

Run David Cameron over.

Neves7 · 26/03/2023 16:30

Speak up more, act like who I am rather than who I thought I was expected to be. Take more chances, take advantage of opportunities that at the time I didn’t believe were genuine because I didn’t think deserved them. Realize that some people really were trying to help me and that I did deserve to be helped.

LoobyDop · 26/03/2023 16:31

Buy the biggest house I could afford in the best area. Or maybe half a dozen smaller ones. Then some shares in Apple. Then I’d start investing some of the profits in a quiet PR campaign to promote the benefits of EEC membership, so that by the time the lunatics tried to demand a referendum they’d be laughed out of town and nobody would be in the slightest bit interested.

ArianahX · 26/03/2023 16:31

At the age of 6 in 1983... I would just keep on doing whatever 6 year olds do..

kateluvscats · 26/03/2023 16:31

Lastarse · 26/03/2023 16:03

I’d go and have a fag in a pub

I was thinking the same!

BeyondMyWits · 26/03/2023 16:32

I'd stop smoking and eat more healthily... might have meant less chance I'd have had that heart attack at 53.

I'd also ditch the lying cheating arse of a bloke I was with.

And I'd ring my mum more.

I could have written this …1st year student nurse and I would definitely have told myself how bloody amazing I am .
Your nurses home sounded exactly like ours ,we had so much fun .

Hang out with my Nan and grandad.

Deadringer · 26/03/2023 16:34

Go to college, and put off getting engaged until I had slept around a bit and got some sort of career going.

AppleDumplingWithCustard · 26/03/2023 16:34

Leave my abusive Met Police officer husband three years sooner than I did. None of the news coming out about the Met surprises me.

moveoverye · 26/03/2023 16:35

I wasn’t born, but in spirit form I’d go to meet my grandparents and hang around the family home a bit to see what the dynamics were like before I came along.
