Is it okay for an 8 year old? I'm thinking a massive no but dh actually thinks it's alright... because we apparently used to watch way worse.

So who's being unreasonable here me or dh?

I put the last one on the other night just as background really while my 12 year old was lying in bed with me, we were talking & on our phones and I watched the first 5 mins and it was the shittest acting but to much for a 12 year old never mind a 8 year old and I'm not one of those parents who go are strict on age at all but it was just to gory & far fetched for that matter. Made me feel weird tbh.

Jesus shitting fuck NO!

Those films have made me terrified of planes, lifts, roller coasters and trucks of logs and I didn't see it until I was an adult 😭

Howtohelp1234 · 23/03/2023 21:11

No chance would I allow my DS to watch that, I don’t know why anyone would.

. @BillyNoM8s yes I’m always wary of driving behind anything carrying piles of wood, and I’d certainly never use a sunbed!

Im99912 · 23/03/2023 21:19

The 4th film unlocked a fear of cinemas for me! I make sure I sit right at the back, just incase.

RideMeSidewaysWasAnother1 · 23/03/2023 21:22

Definitely not. I watched the first one when I was about 15 haven't been able to watch another 20 years later!

Pubesofsoberness · 23/03/2023 21:23

No, he's being ridiculous

anon37484291918 · 23/03/2023 21:27

To this day I've never driven behind a truck with logs stacked on the back.

Bearpawk · 23/03/2023 21:27

Is he joking?

DeoForty · 23/03/2023 21:30

There is a reason millennials tend to catastrophise. Final Destination films.

Unexpecteddrivinginstructor · 23/03/2023 21:40

When he says that he used to watch worse, was that the 8 year old him or the 15 year old him? I think lots of people don't have a clear memory of when in their childhood they watched films or how old they were. Work out how old he was when some of those films were released. Unless you had ds when he was 15 I am guessing he was older than 8 when he watched it for the first time.

Withnailandeye · 23/03/2023 21:45

At 8 years old I’d consider some of the Harry Potter films a bit extreme tbh. Your DH is batshit, the child will have nightmares for months.

Came here to post this Grin

PinkSyCo · 23/03/2023 21:48

No chance!

@ChiefWiggumsBoy glad I'm not the only one Grin

TheUsualChaos · 23/03/2023 21:57

Good god no, what is he thinking?! Has he seen it recently? Can only assume he's forgotten how brutal it is! But that's besides the point really as it's just so obviously not a film for children!

User386421986 · 23/03/2023 21:58

It's a teen film so from about 14, definitely not 8

lobeliasb · 23/03/2023 22:00

God no! I watched it when I was about 14 and it really stuck with me. I still don't like driving behind lorries carrying logs...

BlueMoonCity · 23/03/2023 22:00

I watched it at 10 and I would say a huge no!

Same here, always over take them as fast as I can. These films ruined roller coasters for me too and I will never go on a sunbed 🤣

They are terrifying!

Thisismeyeah · 23/03/2023 22:07

I think this is terribly selfish to allow a child of that age to watch a film like that. If it is an 18 then its an 18 for a reason! What on earth could they possibly gain from watching it? Absolutely nothing!

smileladiesplease · 23/03/2023 22:10

Oh the sun beds. The lift! The plate of glass 😜😜 the dentist
