Apart from your dh of course!

I have an old, battered pair of Nike trainers that I got nearly new and have worn them to death. Still going...don't smell. My New balance trainers sit new in their box.

My Seasalt raincoat. It’s so old now it looks like it has sweat patches on the back and around the arms but it’s just where the colour has worn out 🙈 but I absolutely love it and wear it for brisk country walks because the pockets are at just the right angle for putting my phone in so I can use my battered old wired headphones that I love 😆

NeverDropYourMooncup · 21/03/2023 20:15

Sometimes the ancient, fluffy cat. She's saggy, baggy, permanently confused/cross/asleep or proclaiming undying love at 3am and definitely a bit loose at the seams, but when I'm not cleaning up bodily fluids or my pot plants where she's decided to show them who's boss, I do rather love her.

wheresmyomega3 · 21/03/2023 20:17

my hair towel. it’s DC towel for school swimming lessons (she is now in her 20s) and I won’t use anything else for my hair. it’s totally worn out, perfectly thin and threadbare so wraps easily into a turban. My family think it’s disgusting and beg me to replace it but nothing else would work so well

JudgeJ · 21/03/2023 20:22

I have a huge bathsheet, it must be at least 30 years old and is very thin but I love it, I have newer, thicker towels but this one is perfect for when I just want something to wrap round after a bath/shower, I even sometimes have a thicker towel inside it. My late OH, born 1946, wouldn't get rid of his baby towel, he wasn't the first baby to use it, we once estimated it to be from the 1920s, now he's gone I still keep it in the airing cupboard.

My cotton night wear tops. They’ve been washed so many times that they’ve become see-through but they are wondrously soft and there are still no holes and they have the perfect neckline and are full sleeved.

I have to wear something on top though if others are in the house.

MrsSkylerWhite · 21/03/2023 20:34

Myself

thelengthspeoplegoto · 21/03/2023 20:35

Sadly I don't have them anymore but I used to have the softest grey joggers. I used to wear them around the house. As soon as they were washed they were always my go to. I wore them so much the arse wore away.

PuttingDownRoots · 21/03/2023 20:36

My Teddy bear. Its he same age as me.

DH has a 25yo rugby shirt he still wears! Its from his secondary school rugby team

Moraxella · 21/03/2023 20:37

@malificent7 fellow battered Nike wearer here. Old free runs that they don’t make anymore. With laces! Before they did the neoprene sock thing. They’ve got holes in and I probably get judged but 🤷🏻‍♀️I’m pregnant and can get them on easily. I’ve tried to find them on vinted/eBay; no joy

MikeLitoriss · 21/03/2023 20:37

Battered sausage 😂

My dressing gown and I have a black pair of boots that I've had re-soled twice but I love them and can't find any new ones that compare

ghostyslovesheets · 21/03/2023 20:37

My bear - he's 56 and very tatty - with one eye missing but I love him

I have one of these. It was my mother's hair towel before mine. It's thin and threadbare and makes the perfect turban. It's probably at least 50 years old.

My original London A-Z. I haven't used it for years but there are so many memories in it after I moved here at 18 for university.

ChangingUsernamesLikeUnderwear · 21/03/2023 20:40

My boobs! They look like a couple of golf balls in socks these days but they fed my two babies so I’m quite fond of the old gals😁

Howtohelp1234 · 21/03/2023 20:40

My car. The radios broken, it’s scratched all
over, looks ancient compared to the other fancy cars outside school but I’ve had her from new and love her! She’s taken us on lots of adventures and all paid for. I’m dreading the day she fails massively on the MOT and needs to go.

Sleepinatent · 21/03/2023 20:43

Pyjama bottoms. My arse is half hanging out but I don't want to bin them yet! Tops I am not at all precious about 🤣

Tarkan · 21/03/2023 20:43

I have a really old copy of Don Quixote that I found in a charity shop for £2. I think it's from the 1840s. Very unlikely to be worth anything as it's totally battered, the spine is ripped a bit and falling off slightly and there's a huge amount of foxing throughout the pages. I'm scared to actually read it in case I damage it further (plus the print is tiny and my poor eyes would struggle nowadays) but I like to stroke it gently and think of how many people must have owned it and read it over the years.

daisychain01 · 21/03/2023 20:46

My lovely cotton Lycra M&S PJs, the material round my bum is so thin it's going to disintegrate any day now, but I'm so sad, I don't want to throw them out, they're sooooo comfy.

Omg snap! If only the bottom could be repaired, but there's more to repair than material Grin

A thick jersey nightdress that I had when DS1 was a baby. It was a present from my MIL the previous Christmas. I have photos of me wearing it in hospital with him as a newborn, and he's 22 now. That nightie is still going strong.

Bearpawk · 21/03/2023 21:13

My dads old tape measure. He's long gone but it has all of his markings/ felt tip and possibly even a blood stain on it. I can picture him using it every time I look at it and I remember helping him measure things when I was middle.
Also gold leather handbag I had hand made, it's faded to a lovely champagne patina with age.

When I was *little
