I cry a lot. I know it's not normal, but sometimes I get home from work and the stress and worry from the day makes me cry.

So, what was the last thing you cried at and when?

I cry when my period is due. I cry when watching films about dogs, cats or when people die. I cry when I hear a beautiful song being sung and I bawled when I watched my son sing with a choir, it was a particular song with a rising and louder/higher section, I was moved to tears. I cry when I laugh hard as well.

At DH's funeral in March last year, before that it had been tears of happiness at our wedding in May 21.

So much ❤️ to you

Tamuchly · 18/03/2023 16:53

Yesterday at the bloody Lloyds bank advert ‘girl on fire’ - it hits all my buttons (menopausal) and sets me off every time it comes on 🙄

BigMandsTattooPortfolio · 18/03/2023 16:55

Last night, because my mum has just been diagnosed with dementia.

doritstew · 18/03/2023 16:55

On Thursday, after an emotional conversation with my ex where we were speaking about sad things that happened to me in the past. I started to cry in front of him, then excused myself to go home, where I cried in the car.

Just now when it was confirmed that my current foster cat who I've had for over a year will be going to his new home on Wednesday. Of course I'm delighted that he's got his lovely forever home, but I'm going to miss him so much.

Oh I'm so sorry 😞 x

MyCatIsAFuckwit · 18/03/2023 16:58

@bloodywhitecat
So very sorry for your loss.

When I was first told I had breast cancer and my first thought was that ds was going to grow up without a mum.

Then I got it in proportion, learned that was fairly unlikely to happen, got through six months of treatment and got my balance back. But not a nice moment.

Yesterday Watching the Ukrainians taking part in the st patricks day parades on the news and couldn't imagine the heartbreak of having to leave my home in those circumstances.

I'm breastfeeding so a bit more emotional in general compared to pre pregnancy

Breastfeeding has definitely made me more emotional

JT69 · 18/03/2023 17:02

Menopausal so I cry every day probably. Everything is off kilter - work is shit (education) , cat is terminal , kids leaving the nest, some medical stuff. I’m overwhelmed.

Prescottdanni123 · 18/03/2023 17:02

Tuesday night. My periods normally aren't that bad but this latest one has been an utter twat.

harriethoyle · 18/03/2023 17:03

About two hours ago, after visiting my advanced dementia Dad. He's deteriorated so much, not really speaking intelligibly any more but as I left he said "look after yourself" as clearly as he did a decade ago. Cried all the way home then on my DH 😭

Yesterday, watching the second episode of The Piano, when Lucy played.

Me too. Watched it on gogglebox this morning.

Aww, thank you. It will be hard to let him go, but I'm getting a new one the same day, so that will help and I'm pretty used to this process by now, as hard as it is. New cat will be my 32nd Foster cat 😊

alittlepieceofme · 18/03/2023 17:08

Today, my sister (43) died of cancer a month ago! 🥺

TFMinx · 18/03/2023 17:11

Two days ago. The bank have agreed to write off a loan (not mine!) cried through sheer relief!

You are FANTASTIC! I'm a vet nurse, I couldn't foster....I'd never part with them hence I've got 8 😮

Persipan · 18/03/2023 17:13

Yesterday. I was at a funeral.

JeepersCreeperrs · 18/03/2023 17:14

I can’t remember exactly. Maybe someone died on the news, or on mumsnet and it made me sad. Usually it’s something like that. I’m very empathetic since I had kids.

I'm actually feeling a bit tearful reading most of these replies, wish I could give you all a big hug and cake.

Same.

A couple of days ago, build up of the first time in my life I don’t have my mum to buy a Mother’s Day present /card for.

This morning, my dad died last year and I cry every morning, go to work and cry every night. Don’t see that changing anytime soon.

So sorry about your dad, he must have really been something. I hope things get easier for you over time.

noimaginationforausername · 18/03/2023 17:19

I'm not a cryer but I had a little cry yesterday because I didn't get a birthday FB post from my Mil, I wouldn't care but there's stuff going on and I seem to be getting the blame when I haven't done anything!

TenTwentyAtCheltenhamSandwich · 18/03/2023 17:19

I cried in the shower this morning because my mom’s dead.

MoggyMittens23 · 18/03/2023 17:19

Last week watching the walking dead finale (late to the party) and my fave character died
