Why did you last cry and when?

I cry a lot. I know it's not normal, but sometimes I get home from work and the stress and worry from the day makes me cry.

So, what was the last thing you cried at and when?

I cry every time that sodding Tesco advert comes on where the woman cooks a stew for the new parents next door. Every sodding time. Why am I crying over mushrooms?

AnneLovesGilbert · 18/03/2023 15:31

10 minutes ago. Popped into somewhere that’s having a classical concert tonight and heard them rehearsing. Bawled. No tissues to hand.

I’m 9 months pregnant but can’t say I wouldn’t have done it anyway. Bloody love the violin I do.

It’s not mushrooms, it’s humanity!

Yesterday. Grieving for the suicide of my boyfriend 15months ago. Mumsnetter called Giggly,it is so hard I know. I read somewhere that it is not something we get over, more like something we learn to live with. Hand hold to you all.

Last Friday. I had a really bad day at work. I was a week and a half into a new promotion, my first management position and have inherited a shit storm. I was seriously thinking how I could step back down without losing face.
This last week has been much better.

JacobsCrackersCheeseFogg · 18/03/2023 15:36

My father-in-law died a week last Thursday but I didn't cry until last Wednesday. Proper soggy mess of a cry. Luckily my husband was on hand with hugs & tissues.

MeMyCatsAndMyBooks · 18/03/2023 15:37

Yesterday; when I stabbed myself accidentally with my sons insulin needle. (Still getting to grips with it) and cried my eyes out in front of a nurse and two doctors as I felt useless.

This morning after news of a close friend diagnosed with breast cancer. It's sometimes good to cry though, I never feel bad doing so ...

determinedtomakethiswork · 18/03/2023 15:48

This morning. My friend's first grandchild was born and she has Covid and can't see him for a week. 😢

Chilloutsnow · 18/03/2023 15:50

This morning. My dog died 4 weeks ago and I dreamt of her last night. Having a bit of a delayed grief reaction. She was 17 years old. I miss her.

Today, reading my mother's day card from my adult daughter who lives 400 miles away. Obvs happy tears.

MyCatIsAFuckwit · 18/03/2023 15:55

This morning in bloody Morrisons amid the scrum of folk buying flowers for Mothers Day.
My mother passed away a fortnight ago.
💐 (for you mum x)

About 6 weeks ago when I realised I have zero friends and everything text in my WhatsApp is 'sent' I read every message and reply in a timely manner.
If I don't text people first, they don't text me.

Today. This song came on the radio and it was the song that was playing when dad took his last breath nearly 3 years ago. I miss my dad so much.

Soopermum1 · 18/03/2023 16:13

About 2.5 years ago at my Dad's funeral. I wish I could cry more.

1997 after ds2 died aged 2.5 hours at 27 weeks. It stopped when dd was born 51 weeks later. I have no tears left and didn't cry when my grandparents, father and fil died.

The only other time I have cried since was when ds1 phoned to let me know he'd got 44 IB points. But that was pride and joy.

CombatBarbie · 18/03/2023 16:35

Last night when vet confirmed my baby has stage 4 cancer on his windpipe and lungs. Very unusual for me to cry (Ptsd), but he is my shadow and can't believe its cancer and not his old age thats got him.

Bobshhh · 18/03/2023 16:36

Today, an old friend died and I’m having another miscarriage.

evergreen2 · 18/03/2023 16:37

This morning, I thought about the fact one day my gorgeous pup is going to die and how heartbroken I'll be.
I'm due on tomorrow🙃

SusanSHelit · 18/03/2023 16:41

This morning. Just come off 50 hours of night shifts in one week, my shower is broken, my electric blanket won't switch on, I don't know how I'm going to afford my bills, I haven't been able to get anything for my mum for tomorrow as I was too skint before pay day and then have had a really horrible run of long day shifts into nights.

My house looks like a tip because of said shitty rotas so I feel guilty over that (for ds). Exdp is being horrible and stressing me out re custody (wants to change arrangements after a year).

And I miss the lovely man I'm seeing now because I haven't seen him for weeks because our shifts keep clashing (and I know he's not lying I've seen his rota. He's essentially working opposite hours to me which has made meetings very difficult)

The shower was the straw that broke the camels back. I really needed a good long hot shower and my landlord isn't even looking at it until Monday at the earliest

CrotchetyCrocheting · 18/03/2023 16:41

A couple of days ago. My dog grabbed and ruined the crochet I had been working on while my back was turned. It was a straw that broke the camels back type of situation though. I was sick and feeling like crap and have a lot of family stuff going on at the minute.
I used to cry a lot when I was younger but feel like life has knocked that out of me and it is pretty rare that I cry now.

bloodywhitecat · 18/03/2023 16:49

At DH's funeral in March last year, before that it had been tears of happiness at our wedding in May 21.
