To see someone born in 1968 as young?

Speaking to someone yesterday who's just turned 55. He goes to the gym every morning, is 'hot' imo - as lean as a young man of 18 or so. No tattoos, no beard .. and a great sense of fun - really good company.

I personally still see him as youthful 😊

So do you see someone born in 1968 as young (relatively) ?

I'm thinking of buying a myself a Morris Minor to get into the spirit of all things '68! Grin

Yeah- he’s younger than me 😁.

What you’re talking about though is vitality. Not everyone has it, in fact lots of younger people lack it because of lifestyle.

He sounds great actually!

He is - I'm sure you'd like him 😊

He's younger than me, so yes I see him as young Wink

Of course I am.

They are middle aged but that doesn’t mean they can’t be attractive. The two things aren’t exclusive OP..

GoAgainstNicki · 14/03/2023 13:53

Someone born in 1968 is not young

Topseyt123 · 14/03/2023 13:53

He's around two years younger than me, so he must be young!!😃

I was born in 1966 and will be 57 this summer!! Do I count as young? 😁 I consider myself to be in late middle age. Would love it if someone considered me young. 😃

HamBone · 14/03/2023 13:55

Come on, OP, would a 30-year-old consider 55 that young?

He looks great at 55, fair enough, but unless he lives beyond 110, he’s well into middle age at this point. 😂

DorritLittle · 14/03/2023 13:56

Child of the seventies so he is well old 😉

Seriously though, 55 doesn’t seem ‘old’ to me at all now. Most people at this age have more time as their kids are grown up and so can work out, go out and do whatever they want again.

x2boys · 14/03/2023 13:58

Yes I see them as a spring chicken but then I turn 50 this year so...

Knullrufs · 14/03/2023 13:58

Without getting too much into a semantics rabbit-hole I think young and youthful are slightly different things. And pp is right — vitality is a good word for what you're describing.

MrsRandom123 · 14/03/2023 13:59

How old are you? I wouldn’t see them
as young but i wouldn’t see them
as old either. I’d just see them as middle aged (even though no one lives til 110!)

being in your 50s doesn’t mean you have to be over weight or unfit or look a certain way - you can still take care of yourself and look good but it doesn’t make you young again

DuesToTheDirt · 14/03/2023 14:00

A 55-year old young? Only if you're 80.

And I speak as someone born in the 60s myself.

They aren’t young. They can be youthful, but no they’re middle aged.

I suppose in some ways I think it's circa 1995 which would make him mid 20s Grin

No. I'm 31 and I don't think being born in 1968 is relatively young at all; although I also wouldn't expect someone to rock up with a zimmer frame...

HamBone · 14/03/2023 14:04

Sekena · 14/03/2023 14:01

Do you really think that someone 23 years older than you and biologically old enough to be your Dad is “young,” Op?!

I’m 48 and I don’t consider anyone over 30 (possibly 35) young.

Really? I'd consider late middle age
well over 60! Personally I think a lean body

Clioma · 14/03/2023 14:05

I'm a similar age and much as I'd like to think I'm young I know that I'm not. Mid to late fifties isn't even really middle aged unfortunately. I wish it was.

Sekena · 14/03/2023 14:05

Sorry posted too soon - I think a lean body makes a difference

Ponoka7 · 14/03/2023 14:06

Of course he has a great sense of fun, he's attracting a bird twenty years younger. I'm 55, it's middle aged. If you want a fling with someone you find hot, go for it, but you'll start to see his age. I agree that 55 has changed and it doesn't= unattractive, but spend more time with him and be around him in different situations and you'll see that it isn't young.

JuliesBicycle · 14/03/2023 14:06

No. And where you are 70 you will think some other 70 year olds are hot.

Ooh I certainly don't see it older than middle aged ?!

Sounds like you fancy the pants off him! Just how much older than you is he though?
