the Tesco ad with the creepy faces

makes me not want to shop in Tesco again. I find it really something I don't want to watch, how is it a good idea

I'm literally the most easily scared person ever with this sort of thing and I'm really not bothered by it. It just looks like a cartoon face to me.

Many of the kids in my son’s class are scared of it and lots of parents reporting that their kids are refusing to go into the local Tesco, so they are now going to Morrisons instead and finding they love Morrisons! Own goal for Tesco.

I also get pissed off that having a club card reduces the price, and if you don’t have one you pay more. I don’t want to hand over my details for them to data harvest so they can FO with their two tier pricing.

My DC was scared by it too, it's freaky. usually a Tesco shopper but I'd be worried about seeing that graphic in store if I was with DC 😱

It would be beyond freaky if it was something they used in store, all the checkout staff 😳

She's got her power and seems like an entirely new Parsons, the man at the bus stop can relate cos he too shares her aura after a delightful trip to Tesco's

I saw the thread earlier and didn't know what you were talking about. And then I saw the ad. It is horrifying.

There's no way either Tesco or the ad agency won't have forseen this. I bet they've already got a different edit of it ready to go once it's had some publicity.

It doesn't frighten me. It can be horrendous and utterly ridiculous without being frightening.

I can see how it could frighten some young children though.

I had All4 on in the background all night as I was up with a stomach bug and it's really not pleasant to watch at 3am when you're trying to doze and feeling like shit.

Haven't seen a moving advert but there's a distorted picture of of a women on their website that scared the shit out of me the other day. Whoever thought of it is pretty effed up I think.

It’s definitely uncanny valley territory. This is partly why I don’t like The Polar Express film. I could see how it would be scary for kids. There’s another broadband advert which does a similar thing which I hate.

I think it was done to create a buzz not really thinking about making people convert to Tesco, it has people talking about them even if its a bit negative
