makes me not want to shop in Tesco again. I find it really something I don't want to watch, how is it a good idea

Bizarre and strange, but not really scary.

Thing is most people who've commented on here find it creepy and really don't like it. Who on god's earth spends millions on an ad that freaks half the population out? It's not like Tesco aren't exactly well known? Why upset people unnecessarily, I think they've made a massive mistake in judgement tbh

I thought it was funny , so I guess I’ve got a weird sense of humour

There was a horror film called Truth Or Dare about five years ago that used this face-stretching effect, to make it more scary and freak people out because they knew that distorted human faces often have that effect.

That Tesco add is just plain weird. Who in their creative team thought that was a good idea.

I think there is a psychotic/ trippy vibe to the faces, so they are not quite like masks so that creates the nightmare.

Oh god it's awful!! I showed my DH it yesterday! I can't fathom WHY they think it will encourage us to shop at Tesco!

And yet the poll shows that many of us do find it creepy. Note - creepy or unsettling, not "scary" as in will-be-sitting-up-in-bed-terrified-with-the-light-on-all-night.

I think this kind of uncanny valley effect either hits your nope buttons or it doesn't. Maybe to do with how practical / no-nonsense / fanciful / imaginative your brain skews.
