So I passed my test yesterday I am so proud of myself as it took years to get the courage to do so .
went to work today parked well inbetween the lines a little squint but not blocking anyone .

I come out of work to a note
how they know I've just passed but my parking is dog shit
and that I must be a female as no self respecting make would do this -
best thing is it's signed concerned doctor !!!
I work in a hospital :(
I'm utterly deflated and gutted I thought I done so well ☹️ anyone any advice on how to pick myself up and not let this bother me in the future

thanks

Wow what a horrible person! Bad parking does bother me but it’s when people purposefully bash their car door off of mine.
This person knew the circumstances and still felt the need to write a horrible note to try and humiliate and shame you. Honestly, I’d be tempted to take the note into your work and show it to your boss and ask for it to be taken further. This person could leave a note on a patient or family members car and give them a horrible day too.

Please ignore the doctor. You passed your test yesterday, massive well done for driving into work today. That’s a really big deal and you should be proud of what you’ve accomplished!

HowRatherGolly · 02/03/2023 23:14

How rude. Even a Dr can clearly be shitty. Hold your head up, and here is why, you will get better at driving, that is for sure, but the Dr will never be better with his manners. And, lastly well done on passing your test.

Honeysuckle16 · 02/03/2023 23:18

Someone is pulling your leg. Someone who thinks putting this type of note on a car is funny.

Ignore it. It’s obviously untrue as your parking was fine. You’ve done well passing your test. A rather sad person is a bit jealous of you and has a warped sense of humour.

Just carry on being the able and successful person you are.

MyOtherUsernameIsDave · 02/03/2023 23:23

What a horrible note.

Hospital staff car parks are notorious for parking wars. Staff fb groups are full of bad parking photos, pictures of banged and scraped cars and cars blocking each other in. None of the parking attendants ever seem to care. DH has had to leave his car before and get the bus home because he couldn’t get out of a space.

When you say you parked a bit squint, how much? As that can impact whoever parks next to you.

Whoever that doctor is, they are an utter twat.

JudgeRudy · 02/03/2023 23:31

I'm unsure if it's a typo or a phrase I'm unfamiliar with....you parked 'a little squint'...does that mean on the slant?
So you're definitely within the lines and not too far forward, but is your 'slant' making one part of your car almost on the line so it's difficult for the doors of the car next door to open wide enough to allow the driver in/out?
As for the notes, I doubt very much anyone knows you've just passed your test or that you're a woman. It's just a way to insult you.

Don't give the note too much headspace but if your parking could be improved then maybe have a practice in a supermarket one evening when it's not busy. Parking is an essential skill.

If you come across this again and you're feeling naughty leave a note saying "Breath in Fatty😉".......or maybe dont.

Btjdkfnn · 02/03/2023 23:36

You just encountered a bully.

They are in all walks of life, all professions.

Ignore the note. You were in between the lines, the doctor can go and fuck himself.

iwantavuvezela · 02/03/2023 23:38

did you post this about bullying as well? (same thread but different title)

Giggorata · 02/03/2023 23:44

Brilliantly well done for passing your test! 💐

Don't let some sexist and anonymous shithead bring you down.
This is what they attempt to do to women drivers.
Fuck them and don't pay it any mind.
As long as you're not actually bumping a car or blocking someone in, ignore it.
Parking is something that improves with time and practice.

Just think about the freedom you've got now! 😀

CantStopWontStop0 · 03/03/2023 00:00

You'll laugh about it in a couple years

I think I may have .... wasn't sure how this all worked and was so upset needing some encouragement I suppose

Good morning everyone ,
thanks so much for all your kind words I'll post a picture of my parking now,
well within both lines or so I feel hopefully I'm not setting myself up to fail here 😂 but when I was sitting crying both cars on either side were able to get in their cars and drive away ....

Nothing wrong with that parking!

Nimbostratus100 · 03/03/2023 06:08

I's pass the note to HR - it is bullying and sexist

Foundryside · 03/03/2023 06:11

Is that a picture of the way you were parked when the note was left?

I’m not seeing anything wrong with the way you’re parked there. You’re between the lines, you’re not right up to the edges of the space or anything like that. Ignore them!

Jenny2020 · 03/03/2023 06:13

Yeah that's was the picture I sent to my boyfriend as I was so proud of myself ,
this has gave me such reassurance !
just about to set off for my second day driving 💖

DoristheDuchess · 03/03/2023 06:19

I'd submit the note to security and HR.

Security because it raises concerns about female staff being targeted. HR because it's bullying.

Then in the workplace I'd loudly talk about how I was looking to take action against the anonymous note wanker and am taking the matter very seriously as its a threat against women. I might also throw in that Im going to put it on social media if its not taken seriously and the press might get interested. See who starts to sweat!

Don't just ignore, make some noise! Best way to fight bullies.

DoristheDuchess · 03/03/2023 06:23

Oh and add in they are looking at the cctv footage to see who they culpert is.....

That should worry someone.

DoristheDuchess · 03/03/2023 06:23

*culprit

Llovecookies · 03/03/2023 06:26

I have dyspaxia, my parking is still shit after 30 years. But touch wood I've never had so much as a bump. I just get to places early to help me find somewhere I can park. Well done for passing, it's a massive achievement. I still think passing my driving test was a bigger thing than getting my 1st.

78Summer · 03/03/2023 06:27

The parking is perfect. Well done.

growinggreyer · 03/03/2023 06:30

Do you still have the note? Definitely take a photo of it and then hand it in to someone senior to you. This is someone in your team, who knows your news and wanted to hurt you. If they are a doctor, they could be your boss. I would be looking at the handwriting of every staff member to match it up. Find out who this is and shame them, it is bullying and sexist and needs to be stamped on. God, they have been and tampered with your car. Who knows what they will do next? Maybe it was just a prank but it hurt and humiliated you and it isn't what you go to work for.

CleaningOutMyCloset · 03/03/2023 06:33

What an awful thing to do, I agree pass the note to HR and security.

Oh and by the way, congratulations ans you're parking is absolutely fine

JobbieBobbie · 03/03/2023 06:37

Your parking looks completely fine.

They must know you if they know that you just passed your driving test, no? And they must know that you're female.

GoodChat · 03/03/2023 06:38

The parking is perfect. Are you sure it's not someone having a really bad attempt at a joke?

I'd take the P plates off though. People are dicks about P plates. The alternative is they couldn't find somewhere to park so want to put you off parking there.

FabFitFifties · 03/03/2023 06:38

D you have P stickers? Just wondering jow they knew you just passed? Definately speak to HR and your manager, as well as security. Ask for CCTV to be checked. Don't be put off by anyone minimising this. Your parking looks fine.

CoffeeLover90 · 03/03/2023 06:40

I'm not a driver but I don't see an issue with the parking.
I am a woman though and I've learnt some men HATE when I can do something just as well or better than them. I strive to be better to wind them up more. That's all it is here. The little woman has parked better than him and it makes him feel less of a man, so he turns nasty. Poor little dick Grin
