So I passed my test yesterday I am so proud of myself as it took years to get the courage to do so .
went to work today parked well inbetween the lines a little squint but not blocking anyone .

I come out of work to a note
how they know I've just passed but my parking is dog shit
and that I must be a female as no self respecting make would do this -
best thing is it's signed concerned doctor !!!
I work in a hospital :(
I'm utterly deflated and gutted I thought I done so well ☹️ anyone any advice on how to pick myself up and not let this bother me in the future

thanks

Your parking looks great OP! I always reverse in as it’s much easier for getting out again, but that’s personal preference and 26 years of experience, not a criticism at all, in fact not sure I could even forward park as well as you now.

Given how nicely in the space you are, the only reason I can think of for anyone criticising your parking is if it took you lots of attempts to get into the space and they were stuck behind you waiting to get past, but that would still make them a twat for leaving you a note about it. surely it must be someone you know as they’ve mentioned you just passing your test, so maybe they’re trying to be funny but falling well short?

I'd submit the note to security and HR.

Security because it raises concerns about female staff being targeted. HR because it's bullying.

Then in the workplace I'd loudly talk about how I was looking to take action against the anonymous note wanker and am taking the matter very seriously as its a threat against women. I might also throw in that Im going to put it on social media if its not taken seriously and the press might get interested. See who starts to sweat!

Don't just ignore, make some noise! Best way to fight bullies.

This. Call them out. Leaving a note was so cowardly so I’d be make noise about it and hold them accountable.

WonderingWanda · 03/03/2023 06:53

What a nasty note. Nothing wrong with your parking, well done op! Definitely report it to HR with the photo and the note.

piedbeauty · 03/03/2023 07:06

That is a small space and your parking is absolutely fine! Don't worry.

The note may have been a 'joke' (albeit in shit taste).

Or it may have been genuine. In which case it says nothing about you and a lot about the grade A wanker who wrote it. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Please, put it out of your mind. A tedious, cowardly twat like that deserves none of your head space. Enjoy your new-found freedom! 🚗

piedbeauty · 03/03/2023 07:07

I'd be tempted to take the note to your manager or HR. Bullying twat.

Abi86 · 03/03/2023 07:08

Your parking was better than acceptable. It looks spot on to me. Don’t let an angry person with mummy issues get into your head.

MisgenderedSwan · 03/03/2023 07:41

It is a shifty note but sounds like what the doctor I used to work for would consider 'humour' - he just has terrible people skills (although not with patients) and would think it was banter. Especially with them mentioning that they know you only just passed?

Either way, it is not ok and I would pass the note to HR especially as you have the photo evidence of how you were parked.

My god this is like the plot of a really low level wannabe gangster film

swaggering around talking about getting the local press involved and “see who starts to sweat”. Oh behave, you’ll seem deranged if you do that.

She's got P Plates, that's how they know she's just passed

MisgenderedSwan · 03/03/2023 07:51

@GoodChat - I missed that, sorry. Either way, I agreed the note was inappropriate, was just offering a possible context based on my experiences.

MyOtherUsernameIsDave · 03/03/2023 07:59

I would keep it or at least take a picture of it, incase you get another.

Your parking in fine.

MyOtherUsernameIsDave · 03/03/2023 07:59

*is, not in.

Clymene · 03/03/2023 08:06

I would hand the note to HR. That's seriously fucking creepy apart from anything else. How does he know it's your car?

Grim.

Nah, my days of behaving are long gone. But I like the idea of swaggering, might try that 😂

N27 · 03/03/2023 08:08

Definitely give the note to HR. It is bullying and sexiest behaviour in the workplace and it is not ok x

Clymene · 03/03/2023 08:10

Oh and there's nothing wrong with your parking. Smile

Ponoka7 · 03/03/2023 08:11

If the car park is covered by CCTV then I'd want to know who had left the note. Because it's used sexist language, so should the hospital bosses.

Griefgood · 03/03/2023 08:13

How on earth did they know you were a new driver? You must know them personally? It's not a random.

Naunet · 03/03/2023 08:20

He’s just some sad little misogynist prick. If he knew you’d just passed, he obviously knew who you were and that your were female anyway, so he’s also thick to have worded the note as he did. Imagine how pathetic he is to have gone to the effort to write that! Give it to HR, and keep your eyes peeled for any bitter, insecure, misogynist men you work with.

mrsbyers · 03/03/2023 08:23

i would insist the cctv is checked

Panicmode1 · 03/03/2023 08:24

Congratulations on passing your test and I can't see anything wrong with your parking. Some people are just massive idiots, and like intimidating people.

(My daughter passed her test on Monday - she's never driven our car, just her instructor's, so I took her out in the afternoon, with a 'new driver' P plate on the car so she could practice hill starts in particular - second time around a small circuit, someone behind her decided to rev up her bottom and hoot when she took more than 20 seconds to move off....people are SO impatient and rude nowadays - try and ignore them).

Jenny2020 · 03/03/2023 10:10

Thanks so much for everyone's reply ,

he knows I'm a new driver as the car has a P plate on it ,
And I think he is assuming I'm female

but I fully agree the language used is very much not ok ,

approached work this morning with a. Fuck you attitude to parking as if I am in the lines and plenty of space then they can fuck off haha 💖

thank you so much everyone maybe one day the world will be a better place xx
